i am about to pay a bill with amount of RM3K. Can i call OCBC to leverage this payment for a 3 months pay period? Let say 1K per month?

I beg to differ. At least 1% cash back is better than other cards. So smart spenders will be using which card for other purchases that do not accept amex?

Check out other topics for cards which offers 1% cash-back

Is not smart spenders but based on spending pattern. If you dont utilize the 5% fully then yah, use OCBC and get 1%. But you have Alliance Plat, better still, you get minimum1% to up to 2%.

Yes I agree it depends on spending pattern and to state that those who don't fully utilize the 5% and mix the 1% are not smart spenders is a pure stupidity.

ypu can opt to pay the bill rm 1k a month, i don think the service provider will stopped or barred your services straight away. One or two months delay payment is sometimes ok for service provider. U liaise with them about this lah, u say got financial difficulty to clear but able to clear within 3 months. Win win for all.

totally agreed. Some may not have so much expenses on 5% rebate thus will be using more on 1%.

For OCBC Ti - I used on maxis, digi, telakom, TNB and yet still not reaching RM50. Seldom shop at hypermarket
For UOB 1 card - I used for BHP petrol where I can get 5% rebate plus 2 % (max RM400 per mth) from BHP
