"minimal" is quite a dangerous word in this context. it's true, the amount of physics knowledge is lesser, but not by minimizing all that u learn. of all the chapters one would learn in form 4, 5 and STPM/matrics, architecture only requires aspects of forces and load distributions quite thoroughly, but everything else are just add-ons.

the chart only shows the relevant and current paths. it does not show future or anything that hasnt set in stone yet.

basically at the moment UTM SPACE is not taking anymore students into the B.Arch programme. but in the future it will reopen not for B.Arch but for BSc.Arch (part 1). the part time M.Arch programme (part 2) will be run by school of postgraduate studies (SPS).

Hello mr azarimy

Since UK universities arent so picky about CGPA when it comes to enrolling new students for MArch programmes, how about local scholarships ? (MARA, JPA, etc)

Im in my 4th out of 8 semesters in uitm n so far my cgpa is only abit above the 3.00 mark. So my case is i wish to pursue my part 2 overseas preferably UK, only if i am able to acquire a scholarship.

Do u have any ideas on how likely is it for me to obtain a scholarship if i am only able to graduate with this kind of result? I know im only in my second year but still, i have my doubts.

However there is also this latest news i got which is LAM's new ruling on overseas accreditation which states that any enrolment to overseas universities after Dec 2017 will not be accredited. Eventhough if im able to graduate on time (around July 2017) i still wont be able to enrol before Dec 2017 since there is that compulsory 6 months working experience right? If that truly is the case then i'd have no chance to study in the UK directly after my 6 months in the industry at all.

So any rough ideas on how long would it take for UK universities to apply for LAM accreditation n how long would the process take ?

Thank you for your time mr Azarimy

hello there,

i. overseas scholarships are obviously for top achievers, or those who fulfills whatever requirements the sponsors want. 3.00 is usually not sufficient for a full scholarship. u need at least 3.50. realistically speaking, of course. else, u should consider taking loans instead.

ii. the 6 months working experience is only required for entry into LAM part 2 programmes. if you're going overseas, u need to fulfill their requirements instead.

i'm not up-to-date with the current events of RIBA, but last i checked, u need RIBA part 1 before u can qualify for RIBA part 2, and u need to fulfill 1 year working experience after part 1 before joining part 2. so assuming UiTM has RIBA part 1, u still need to fulfill 1 whole year of working experience instead of just 6 months for LAM.

iii. some UK universities are currently looking to apply for LAM accreditation. it might take a year or two.

Hi Sir,

based on that statement, am I still able to further my studies in the UK for my RIBA Part 2 (Also accredited LAM Part 2, although there is the new ruling) ?

My plan is to finish my degree (lam part 1) here and do my part two in the UK to save some money instead of 3 years in the UK .

like i mentioned before, u need RIBA part 1 first. u can either resit ur part 1 degree, or somehow convince RIBA to let u sit for their part 1 professional exam. however, if u come from UM or UiTM (both has RIBA accreditation i believe), then u can go straight for their part 2 degree. the 1 year working experience still applies though.
