Of course if you are just interested in Infinite Black Pro performance, then you should look for the discounted VT20.must be P50/VT20 which is a 50'' panel. what about the 65'' price? |

Of course if you are just interested in Infinite Black Pro performance, then you should look for the discounted VT20. Exactly ... will have to wait and see on price, but in the meantime other than being 3D capable (personally don't care for 3D) the VT20 has the Infinite Black Pro vs the Infinite Black panel, and it has the THX mode that the V20 lacks. For my living room the 50" is a bit too big tho, and the P42GT20 looks to be just a stock a V20 with 3D. If the GT20 gets heavily discounted tho then it can be a good deal for anyone who wants to snap up a top set at a great price with a bit of 3D future proofing built in.Anyone got any discount price on the P42GT20? The P50VT20 can now be had for ~RM6k and the P42GT20 ~RM4k. Both comes bundle with the 3D starter kit.

The VT has fast firing phosphors if u r prone to phoshor trails and a better filter that will make viewing in a bright environment better. Post calibration the pro modes are more accurate then thx.Anyone got any discount price on the P42GT20? This post has been edited by anfieldude: Mar 26 2011, 11:58 AM |

agreed with AD , the True Cinema mode is THX by another name and its only suitable under control ambient lighting.its too dark for my liking for daytime
after calibration should be good but wonder if the G series has the pro modes The P50VT20 can now be had for ~RM6k -if it is a new set,it's worth it with the bundles thrown in i heard the new sammy 51'' D8000 is a dissapointment at least on the black level with LCE which cannot be switch off. the new st30 looks like it may be a gem for its price and class. by the first impression of the st30,the new GT ,V and VT series may look orgasmic This post has been edited by sunnyK: Mar 26 2011, 01:00 PM |

As per the above replies, if you're thinking about GT20 (basically just for 3D), might as well wait for the 2011 models. The VT20, on the other hand, offers better PQ features and therefore, better value especially with the heavily discounted price. Anyone got any discount price on the P42GT20? Even when you compare GT20 to the V20, I would still go for the V20 as the 3D feature is way overpriced in 2010. |

Thanks for the reminder about the fast firing phosphors AD. And PM yes, thanks for the wisdom on feature/price comparison with 2011 models ... I'm with you actually, as noted I've no need or interest in a 3D capable TV right now. I was just noting to myself really that the V20 and GT20 specs are the same, the latter being the 3D capable version, not trying to teach anyone things they already know. As for the VT20, yes has all the advantages noted but even discounted the price is 3x higher than the discounted V20, so was checking for latest GT20 price (apparently RM4k). Just wish I could get a "real" V20 ... can get in UK for RM3.4k with 5 year guarantee. |
