is this a good jump?  sad.gif

Monetary wise, no much difference.

It is a good jump if the latter company is re-known company and the latter exposure would help to enrich your portfolio and making you even more valuable in the market.

Otherwise, try nego with your current company for a raise.

Job Title : Technical Analyst (SAP)
Age : 25
Job Desciption : ABAP development for project/support.
Years spent in company : 2
Company : MNC
Industry : Manufacturing
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Junior
Experience before joining : -
Salary : RM 3.5k
Benefits: Bonus 1 or 2 month

Am I underpaid? Thinking of career growing path now, anyone can give suggestion (continue technical or
change to functional?

Personally im prefer technical, but wont limit myself in technical, never try functional before.

Bored for just sitting there & wait functional give tasks. Somehow feel company seniority is quite serious,
benefits are there (include SAP training, outstation chances), but senior go first.

Anyone can give constructive suggestion for my situation?

Money is not a concern at early stage and you should try to diversify your technical skills first initially. Consulting firms will be a good place to do that as you'll be assigned to different kind of projects and challenges. ABAP should be your core but if you have any chances to do other technical skills like portal, bw, workflow or XI, then go ahead by all means. Once you have strong grasp on all technical areas, you could go to end user to learn more on industry and business processes. A good technical consultant is the one that understands the business and has deep industry knowledge as you would be able to comprehend and provide a better solution. At this stage, you might switch to functional if you want to or doing a hybrid role like BW (techno-functional). At the end of the day, you yourselves decide what's best for your career development. Do you like to manage people? deal with human relation? or you are just the opposite kinda person? Anyhow, build a strong technical foundation first, then decide what's best for you. Lastly, if you could, do it for the passion and not for money.

40% increment is a lot. Should just take it if you are up for a challenge. After doing the asst. prod manager for 1 year if they do not promote you again with a large sum of increment, can always jump to other company smile.gif

By then you will be looking for a prod manager position.

actually i'm going to accept it, i don't know it's worth or not about the salary.. i'm ready for that challenge. perhaps i should try to negotiate at least 50% increment

I will need to work 18 days per yr if company functions or event or anything laa it fall on weekend or PH, and cannot claim OT/replacement. But after i used up the 18 days only the company will start paying me or replacement. In another way it means i'm working free-of-charge for the company for this extra 18 days. sad.gif

Alright.. now I understand.
However, I am not too sure why your company have such a policy. Basically, 18 working days is more or less equivalent to 1 month.
But it all depends on you bro, if you can learn and gain valuable experience in this company, I think it is still worthwhile for you in your future career path.

No point you getting greedy on the small money smile.gif Look for the bigger goal. Basic is what that matters .. Allowance given during outstation is normal..

Whether to allow you to further claim or not depends on company. There are quite a lot that do not allow further claims so this is the industry norm.

If you're unhappy, go look for another company.

Whether your qualifications / experience suffice for you to get another job may be subjective.

And whether you like the new comp or you ended up in a company where the culture is the same / sucks even more will also be subjective.

From what I see, your increment is pretty high. MNC's median increment range from 3 - 8% (assuming this is yearly increment, promotion is not included) .. so take your pick.

Any one in accounting field? Which one is a better starting career point?

I am Fresh graduate (cpga 2.8 + studying ACCA in progress )

Now get an offer as Acc Officer ( Acc Receivables) , in taiwan & s'pore MNC co, using Oracle sw, they offer me Rm2400 , and standard employees benefit only.

Worth? Should i go for it?

____________________________________________________

compare to Sime darby, same postion (AR), but can learn SAP, BUT salary RM1950, better employees benefit.

So, how to decide?

I can sit KTM + LRT to sime darby,

but need to drive to MNC ( petrol, tol, and parking fees around 500 or lesser.)

how to decide

go on money better?

Whichever that has the best career progression. You will be surprised that you wont learn much with regards to SAP if you join Sime Darby. You are merely .. using the system as a user, not supporting nor implementing.
