Partly yes, but real use is for a more comfortable eye cup as compared to the original.

anything that can fit on D90 can fit on D7000.
so that 3 combo that ReeNz said will fit, just that i tried it and dont like it.
prefer my modded dk-21m with original d7000 eyepiece.

This lens is prone to hunting during lowlight, if can spend more, just buy the Sigma 17-50 OS ( About RM2400 Grey Set )

depends for what model.
some is clip-on, those one got no viewfinder protection.
for D7000, its got viewfinder protection, and imo the design is dumb cos it only stays in place via the viewfinder slot.
there is no clip below the lcd part to clip on to the body, so it can move sometimes.
here's mine anyway, im going to put another GGS 1st gen on the LCD, and then 3rd gen one over it, use it to extend the viewfinder away from the body abit.

im also using GGS 3rd gen...
it moves sometimes make it annoying...
haha...

DX 50mm f/1.8? There's no 50mm DX lens. All 50mm is FX lens...
Or do you mean 'anyone using 50mm f/1.8 on DX body'?
Or do you mean 35mm f/1.8? That's a DX lens.
Anyway, 50mm f/1.8 is simply OK for portrait.
