IMO, i still think the 50mm f1.8 is sharper than the 30mm macro

quite noisy..i notice too..sharpness wise, i feel it is quite sharp..like it...and not so tight...30mm very nice!!..good portraits!...

William, it is just a simple filter in CS4 called NIK. I just used a color stylizer and chose this retro looking color. after that, I added some noise to increase the retro feel. That's all.
