Newbieeeeee: You could spot meter on the flowers and do a +1 EV - colors would look loads better.
Try buzzing around the flower like a bee until you find an angle you feel is 'magical' and has 'feel'.
You can use Focus Check Live View on your A580 - solves the problem of getting precise focus. That said the DOF is so big that you don't have to be exact!
Motor in lens versus motor in body, depends on the lens and focal length, and the gear ratios of the lens. There are slow and noisy focusing lenses with internal motors as well as fast and quiet screw-driven lenses.
ahpingko: Go into a Sony Style and test both lah.

I would use the F1.8 more lah personally.
hiansitt: Not to forget, unchipped Nikkor lenses will not meter at all on less advanced Nikons. So you found a Nikkor 50mm F1.2? It won't even tell you what shutter speed so you gotta take a picture and then check to see if the exposure is correct.
8tvt: There are Carl Zeiss Jena lenses which are at least 50 years old (given that some were discontinued in 1960.)

And here's my former Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm F2.4 in M42 mount. Notice that it focuses closer than 20cm from the sensor plane! Its maximum magnification, I measured, was 2.29x.
That said, the 30mm is not a bug shooter - it's a food, products and flowers shooter.
If you use a 180mm F3.5 Macro sure that's great for insects, but it's no good for food, products and flowers. The depth of field would be too shallow for when you want to get everything in focus (and stopping down more takes up more flash power!)
fansoption: Nice, I like how the shoe shot only has 3 elements in 3 colors.
cyruz13: Congratulations!
ieR: No, the Samyang 8mm F3.5 diagonal fisheye is 180 degrees from top-left to bottom-right on APS-C. Same as the Zenitar or Minolta/Sony 16mm F2.8 diagonal fisheye, also doing 180 degrees from top-left to bottom-right on full-frame.

Only the Peleng 8mm F3.5 gets wider, with 180 degrees from top to bottom.

Sony 16mm F2.8
diagonal fisheye on FF.
Nice upside-down shot! I like how well-controlled the light is. Well done!
kopitiam: You meant the Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC, which does exist for A-mount.
yuhi: I'd go with the 35mm F1.8 and 85mm F1.4 for street photography on APS-C. Wide angle zooms are fine too.
