QUOTE(ieR @ Mar 4 2011, 10:29 PM) EHEM thanks for the clarification the reason the tamron 1750 is fast, because its F2.8. not the lens F2.8 but the aperture is wide open at F2.8 during AF, which give more light = better reading, so the camera can ask the lens to go faster. try using 1855SAM, 1870(screwdriven) and 1750(screw driven) at day light, all three cant tell the speed diff. but once night, the darker F3.5-F5.6 lens surely will suddenly become tikus and go slower.... it happen on 70200G vs 70300G, the 70200F still go at faster speed at night compare to the 70300F @ 200mm F5.6 on the same body. so the aperture of the lens does affect the speed, like how my tammy is faster then 1680cz at night. QUOTE(lwliam @ Mar 4 2011, 10:34 PM) another nightmare is when i pass my camera to another friend to take a pic, when he zoom, he turns the focus ring instead of the zoom ring and your heart suddenly sinks on the spot! O_o *the horrorrrrrr* my friend tried to turn the focus ring of 50mm f1.8 as if he's turning a zoom ring |

QUOTE(ieR @ Mar 5 2011, 12:28 AM) yuhi, what u asked is somehow confusing. Thanks for explaining!!! You've shed some light on a lot of the questions which i had in mind! hunt mean finding. before hunt, u have to make sure u point at something that is focus-able, something contrast-y. in AF-S and AF-A, once it lock (teet teet) it will not hunt again. the 70200G has DMF where u can turn the focus ring instantly after AF to fine tune ur focus. but not all lens has DMF, so be careful the AF-C will continue to try to re-lock and re-lock and re-lock (without teet teet). the aperture will not close down until u full press the shutter button. and the DOF preview button (if u set the lens custom button to DOF preview) it will close down the aperture when u press it (u notice ur OVF gets darker too) but AF mechanism is locked out, so the camera dont really focus when the aperture close down. but on certain lens with DMF, u can fine tune focus with it. minolta/sony alpha AF (and other brand is the same) will not AF with lens that is darker then F6.3 (lens with manual aperture) like samyang FE or 85mm. in other words, u wont get AF confirmation for lens darker then F6.3 except for a very very special case, the minolta/sony 500mm F8 mirror reflect which still works with AF even its a F8. Added on March 4, 2011, 11:57 pmHey guys, I need all of your opinion, if you had the cash and you would want to take primarily street photography and portraits, which choice would you make? 1. 2470CZ 2. 35mm f1.8 + 85Z 3. 24CZ (and screw portraits, and just use my 50mm f1.7) This post has been edited by yuhi: Mar 4 2011, 11:57 PM |

evil, hunt when u shoot macro or normal shooting?
macro is actually like that when its near the focus zone, u press the hold button, then use ur head/body move forward backward to finetune focus.
