oh man SLT forced users to be a tester and lost their money..
why actually lens need to modify where the prob more likely on the body itself?

can't sony do something about it? what if A77 is SLT and having the same prob?

Nah, sony too smart for that. a33 and a55 is just to test out the market (and to get people excited and splash money into this technology) and to point out any flaws and improvements of this technology. (same goes to nex) The 2nd generation cameras of these technologies will be much better and most of the main problems should be corrected by them before the launching A77. It took them so long to upgrade the A700 to A77, so It better be good! wish.gif

Who is losing money la? doh.gif sigma has offered to change the lens chip FOR FREE if your lens don't work well.

And for some rare Minolta lenses which doesn't work well, those lenses are already more than 20 years old and I certainly won't blame it on the body for being too advanced.

So guys, try not to genaralise and speculate small issues.

guys...i read albnok review on Sony 30mm F2.8 Macro..it is so nice..now i dont know which to get..minolta 28mm F2.8, sony 35mm F1.8 or this Sony 30mm F2.8 Macro...

i personally feel that macro lens is a great choice..its 30mm very suitable for all round shooting..and i will be glad to use it for portraits..

my question, which give a better bokehness and image quality - full body portrait:
1) sony 30mm F2.8 macro @ wide open - F2.8
2) minolta 28mm F2.8 @ wide open - F2.8
3) sony 35mm F1.8 @ F2.2..

btw, that macro 1:1 feature is a bonus!!..drool.gif

Not to say its not good, its a great camera, but sony is just testing the water as it is a new technology. But I think we will see a significant improvement in the upcoming A77 (I hope!)

i do not have any issue with my 20 years old beercan in my fren's A33.

is unfair for you to judge in that way, if you tell me DSLT have problem with SONY Lens, that is fine, but if the market require them to test their new body with all the lens including sigma, tamron, tokina, minolta on every new body sony produce and make it as basic benchmark, you will not seeing any improvement or new idea in DSLR/DSLT, as this will restrict them from moving further.

The 3rd party lens should accommodate to the manufacturer not the manufacturer accommodate their 3rd party provider.
