n of cos u need to leave ur cam there (as for my case, as they dun have sony cam)...

normally AEL use together with spot metering, decide a place to meter your subject (normally nearest to 18% colour, like skin tone) press AEL (it just lock your metering / exposure info)
and recompose.. smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Bro, is this the same as the "AF" button (located at the center of the d-pad) for a230-series and a350-series alphas?

for a200/a300/a350 there is physical AEL button
also for a33/a55
(not sure about a500/a550 but im assuming a580 have).

but for a230/a330/a380/a290/a390 there is no physical AEL button. if u use spot metering, it locks the exposure when u lock your AF  nod.gif . this one is after a firmware update (for a230/a330/a380)

etc : a33/a55

blowsh: Ah now I know how you got your nickname!

I like the ripples on the water - what if you had a cropped picture that just features a lot of ripples?

kysham: Wah you brought it out?

empty-ball: Ah, finally, some wireless flashing! biggrin.gif

Of course, if the front light was brighter it would be better.

really amaze on wat minolta 35-70 f4 can do using the macro switch...too bad its not a true macro (correct me if i'm wrong) blush.gif

bro, do u reckon a raynox with tis lens can do better then 17-50 f2.8 with raynox?

blowsh: The Tamron has weaker magnification (1:4.5x) compared to the Minolta 35-70mm F4 (1:4x). I would guess the Minolta does better but you should try it.

Nice shot, quite abstract. Could use minor brightening in the bottom part though.

*
yeah...borrowed a raynox from a fren...tested it n minolta did give a better "macro" then tamron, but i found it hard to fit in the minolta as it comes with a 49mm threat. even with the adapter, it looks like its gonna fall off with a slight knock. do i need a step up ring on the lens?

i also notice that the bottom part is a bit dark, anyway, i usually post direct from camera, as i seldom do PS much... smile.gif

another question on PS, if i brighten it up, will it cause other parts of the images to be overexposed?
