My condo tiles popping out recently due to some hollow ones.
Heard need to remove the tiles and re-lay them again.
Anyone has similar experience and can tell how much you have spent to fix this?

Usually The Star weekend can find a lot of promotion ads on tiles.

btw u may try take a look along Jln Ipoh. Lots of tile shops there. Look around and compare for urselves. Average the tiles price at Jln Ipoh are quite attractive.

Do you guys opt for PVC tile trim for the tile edge/corner? Or go for tile on tile basis?

I think people seldom use those little square tiles for edge/corners nowadays. I used PVC strip and it's looking good so far (after 1.5 years). Used it on walls in kitchen and bathroom, around window frames and wall corners. For floor and countertop, I just asked the tiler to round down the corners of the tiles. smile.gif

Just a note that the Feruni Black & White Aludra Black AL81NN 60x60cm tiles that I used for my bathroom concrete counter top is proving to be flaky and brittle.

While installing the tiles, the tiler commented that they were easily broken when cut and quite a few tiles were wasted due to breakage when cutting them.

Now after only less than 1.5 years, a small chip (about 5mm width) appeared on one of the edges where it's been rounded off. It's surprising since we don't do very much on the counter top in the bathroom. Maybe the maid hit it with the handle of the mop or something.

It's a small chip, and not very noticeable unless you look closely, but thought I'd share this experience here.

I have a question regarding tiles - not the installation process but where to find someone to buy my leftover tiles (as in unopened cartons) as i have just finished my renovation. Anyone has knowledge of this?

If that's not a lot then u should keep it for future use.
Just incase any tiles breaks later on.

Bought tiles myself in Jalan Ipoh on 1st Jan 2013 biggrin.gif

But now I got quoted for labor+material for 3 rooms, approximately 300sqft in total for RM1.5k, Indon job. Chinese job RM2k

Which one should I go for and is it cheap?

I'm actually thinking of DIY myself, as a way to learn new things and save my wallet from sinking into emptiness. LOL. Try google for days but yet to get a proper guides. :S

Hi, my dad did tiles renewing without changing the whole tiles.. No matter how dirty and stains that couldn't be removed, there will be special way to remove it and restore it just like your newly bought/installed tiles (except there's cracked tiles).. Light scratch could also be remove unless it is deeply scratch..

It is much cheaper compare to change the whole tiles as u need to removes your unwanted tiles and install your new tiles.. There's double cost over there.. Why not using alternative way and use back your original tiles without wasting much money.. Result guarentee!!!

For quotation and more information, you can call my dad. 0163828988 (Meng) 0163602000 (Amy).

Thank you!!! Hope this help.. Picture will be provided if u r interested.. Just pm me..
