Hi Kitmel When you mentioned inclusive of materials, you mean cement & susu only right? Excluding tiles? What is the measurement of your tiles? TQ QUOTE(kitmel @ Jun 25 2011, 12:27 AM) Hi. Just done with my tiling. The contractor quite good, and charge reasonably too. Rm1000 for 400sf, just for laying tiles, inclusive of labours and materials.

We have heard a lot about Niro tiles in this forum and I wonder if anybody heard of Taicera or Kita tiles by Opsiprima before and know of their tiles qualities? http://www.opsiprima.com.my/about-us

Hi Anybody knows what kind of tiles these are? ----> just found out that this is quarry tiles.
Are they good? Not sure if I should replace it with ceramic tiles or leave them alone. They were installed on my balcony. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Was looking at some Feruni tiles yesterday at the Home Furnishing Fair. Price pretty competitive but I was told that the products are from OEM China and Vietnam.
Wonder if anybody had problems with their product before?

QUOTE(weikee @ Aug 5 2011, 10:38 AM) I find their price more expensive than Niro. Their product more on designing and able to cut to difference size. Most tiles are from China now. QC most important. Feruni I can't comment too expensive for me to use. My house using China, Vietnam, and India tiles from Super Ceramic + Niro for floor. All Grade 1. Thanks, weikee. I'm waking up now... he he This post has been edited by Skydrop: Aug 6 2011, 02:10 PM

QUOTE(phoenix69 @ Sep 8 2011, 10:30 PM) New info from talking with Kevin from Niro Granite Jalan Penchala, Petaling Jaya. Homogeneous = Porcelein, The material are the same from surface to the base. Full Bodied = The Top colour are saturated Fully in to the tile. Half Bodied = The Top colour are saturated partially (half) in to the tile. This is superb phoenix69! Thank you very much for the info. This post has been edited by Skydrop: Sep 14 2011, 08:30 AM

I went to Super Ceramic shop today and there is a promotion for grade 1, 2x2 polished porcelain tile at RM9.90 per piece, made in China of course. Don't know whether to believe it's 1st grade or not. What other questions should I be asking?
Do people put 1'x1' tile on wall? Is it common?

Jo_da48 & weikee Yeah, the seller told me the 1x1 tile is for wall just that most people use rectangular shape instead of square shape on wall. So I am not sure how it will look like at the end. Bedroom floor - more advisable to use glossy or matt tile? This post has been edited by Skydrop: Sep 19 2011, 08:07 AM

QUOTE(weikee @ Sep 26 2011, 03:56 PM) Grade A mean more symmetrical cutting, less variance in color between same batch of tiles, less "pregnant" issue. Do remember, Grade A does not mean all quality are the same all grade A tiles., Grade A Tiles "X" that cost RM 15, may be difference between Grade A tiles that cost RM 10. The seller can advice you. Some tiles cost cheaper even is Grade A because it use have difference color, or polish level are difference. +1 Nobody can answer me before. Now I don't know whether to buy the RM10 grade A tile or not. Not sure of the quality.

Hope I am correct. From what I understand, you can use any tile on wall but not floor but there are some ceramic tiles for floor also. Of course porcelain tile is better and more durable for floor. If you want those that still gives you same color when chipped, then you have to go for full body type. And this one is super expensive (to me aje.). Any other types, chip, sure can see color difference no matter how light the color is.
I was thinking of getting some cheap RM10 porcelain for my bedroom floor but from weikee's explanation, a RM10 ceramic tile might be better quality than RM10 porcelain. Am I right weikee?

Sorry for misunderstanding you bro weikee. I understand now. Not all Malaysian made is good or bad and not all China made is good or bad either. The challenge we newbies face is to select the right quality tile given the budget we have. Can't tell which one is good quality and what questions to ask. If ask sales person, they tunjuk the mahal type Malas to entertain low budget customer. Bro kelvyn, so the kuda putih and mml can trust ke?
