Brother, you may want to consider buying the 2-disc edition of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button via amazon.co.uk
I just purchased from the website and it cost me about 9 pounds - around RM45 (including shipment)

criteon collection is different..

Just want to ask if anybody has ever ordered bluray worth more than USD200 at one go? Would there be any issue with custom if the price of the package is worth more that this amount?

Or is there a maximum $$ amount before we get some issue with the custom?

Please share. Thanks

As long the total purchase inclusive shipping does not exceed RM500, should be safe... but sometimes just luck! icon_rolleyes.gif

Certainly "Criterion Collection" wins over the ordinary edition, taking into consideration of the features like, newly restored high-definition digital transfer with uncompressed soundtrack on
the Blu-ray edition ..adds the advantage. That's inclusive of special features which you would probably would not find it on normal edition.

The one reason u might want to get the US edition on this one, IIRC was that the UK one was 16bit soundtrack and the US one was 24bit soundtrack. The US used a higher bitrate AVC encode, and DTSHDMA and the IINM was lower bitrate VC1 encode and Dolby TrueHD with lower bitrate.

well it's ok, worth the wait for a remaster... and can save budget for another year. nway the dvd can suffice for now if really want 2 watch...  tongue.gif

agree.... rather wait for the better version and save money & disappointment.. just like LOTR trilogy... Not as if it's a new show smile.gif

Releases that underutilise BD capability is unforgiveable mad.gif I think it should be mandatory to put on the BD box 1) whether it is remastered 2) year of remastering

No, but in this case it was so. Warner did the encode for Europe and Criterion did it for the states. We all know how meticulous Criterion are for the av encodes. Warner has been sloppy at times.

Sorry to confuse you with the rant. Was talking in general for some sub par BD release including LOTR. 2 topics altogether smile.gif

Was tempted to get the Lethal Weapon set as price reasonable but AVS forum seemed to suggest it can be better if remastered. Sometimes don't understand why they can't just do a Sound of Music for all remasters. Seems like Universal releases are main culprits.

New trend marketing of BD? paying less getting less AQ packaging???? hmm..... could be possible one day PQ also reduce?!?
Don't even mention the packaging itself where often slipcover is missing and etc when selling at superb cheap price!

I just read the user comment at Blu-ray.com and confirm single edition only came with DD5.1 rather than DTS-HD MA 5.1 from special edition.

--------------------

Edit: I just found out not only AQ is different! PQ also! from other forum! and single version is BD25 where special edition is BD50.

Video bit rate for the movie-only version (BD25): 25779 kbps

Video bit rate for the SE version (BD50): 28024 kbps

Oh man... means my rant not gonna end soon cry.gif

It should not be consumers having to dig up all the reviews and forums and find out what is the best for them when the studios don't give enough information about their product
