Also, i think i opened up discussion on what to include such as detailed information on Region Codes, Deals , FAQ etc but bro masked one thought that i'm gonna take over the "throne" which i don't wish to.

I hope there will be lot more useful articles , information's , deals that you can include and post.

Thanks

Yeah , watching Julie Andrews in HD  tongue.gif . I was impressed also with the PQ and AQ . High-Def Digest also rated this BD very highly . A must get BD .

I think i watched it 3-4 times already. Although the grains washed out but the PQ looks healthy.
For a 1965 film there wont be any better than this edition. I hope more and more classics gets released in a stellar picture & kick ass sound quality.

Hope also but I don't think it gonna a lot classics did this, as I remember I read somewhere b4, the company is invest a lot of money to clean it during 1st release DVD last time where the amount is crazy enough to shot a new movie.

The Sound of Music BD still got slightly (just slightly) color change in same position scenes but it was not so noticeble compare with last time DVD release b4. It still got grain but in acceptable level for such old film. It is superior far far better than a lot more recent movie clean up.

Love it!.

------------------

Alien Anthology - I just test disc 3 (I simply take and put in to test) It is clear also but I notice it seems over DNR in certain scenes where a bit fake look, overall still impressive and also far far better than my DVD last time. The Alien Anthology is by far the best BD menu did I ever seen.

If you not had enough with classics like The Sound Of Music , then checkout Blade Runner.
Try getting the 5 disc Collector's edition. Its a must have classic..

QUOTE(Ares187 @ Jan 28 2011, 01:08 AM)
i hope the The Ten Commandments BD would be an awesome release too . Thanks to sKyWiR3pT3lTd i got Sound Of Music c/w slipcase at a superb price .  tongue.gif

Off topic !

Bro Ares187, the 4 Disc Collector's Edition contains all the above. That's what bro Andrew meant. Its not a separate item.
They are part of the boxset collection.

USD $ 59.99 when I purchase, then due to late issue, I get USD $ 10 discount.
*
I bought on 2 separate occasion for a buyer and a friend. The 1st one during BF and it was sold at B&N for 49.99 , after 15% discount , $42.49(shipped).
Then 2nd purchase after a month where it was 79.99 after 30% discount i got it for 55.99 (shipped) from B&N.

Not on all occasions you can get good deal from B&N . Anyway it was a reasonable price.

The Blu-ray market share was 20% again for the week ending January 16th, according to Home Media Magazine. The revenue was off a little compared to last week at $26.98M, up 27% over last year. The Social Network from Sony Pictures easily took first place ahead of Warner’s strong selling Inception in 2nd place with roughly a quarter of the sales.Sony also did well with The Other Guys and Piranha 3D taking 3rd and 4th positions ahead of The Expendables from Lionsgate in 5th. Recent releases The Town from Warner took 6th place, The A-Team from Fox with 7th position and Machete, also from Fox, in 8th place.

New release Alpha and Omega from Lionsgate had to settle for 13th place, while the new 20th Anniversary release for Dances with Wolves release from MGM took 16th place. On the marker share side of things, promotionally priced Blu-ray titles sold particularly well this week. Top seller all round The Social Network scored well with a solid 45% Blu-ray market share, though on this count Inception was the winner with 59% of sales on Blu-ray Disc.

Piranha 3D was another strong selling new release with 47% market share, while Alpha and Omega skewed more to DVD with only 23% market share. Titles that outsold their DVD counterparts included The Other Guys with 57%, The Town with 55%, The A-Team with 66% and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice from Disney with 68% of sales on Blu-ray Disc.

At the other end of the scale we have Dinner for Schmucks from Paramount with a market share of 19% and Easy A from Sony Pictures with 17% market share.

P/S : The Social Network , Inception , The Town , A-Team would be a good buy. Bit disappointed with Alpha & Omega.

Saw this post @blu-ray.com , wanted to share with all.

"Bad news - it seems that both the original & the remake will be region locked. I sent Starz an e-mail and here's their reply: "They are not region free. The DVD is Region 1 and the Blu-ray is Region A"

Seems it doesn't come with slip blush.gif

Just completed reading the entire thread on Robin Hood (UK Release). Its Universal Studio, the BD is Region free coded. But the features DVD is Region locked. For you reference , see below the response from one of the poster.

"The feature film is on a region free Blu-ray, the extras are on a standard DVD, which like all UK DVDs will be Region 2 locked"

QUOTE(dariofoo @ Jan 28 2011, 03:06 PM)
The 5-disc edition has FIVE versions of the movie - the "Domestic Cut," the "International Version," the "Director's Cut" the "Workprint" and the "Final Cut".
