Guys,

Just want to share with you that there is really some great bargains with Amazon.uk currently. Batman series, The Mummy and Pirates of the Carribean is really at great value. Total 10 movies (4 Batman, 3 Pirates and 3 Mummy) - at around RM270 including shipping. That is around RM27 per movie - almost equivalent to those "illegal" version

I went to Speedy at Mid Valley - it cost an average RM99 per movie. Some at a discounted price at RM79.90

I am crazily addicted with Blu-ray; just about 1 month after purchasing a blu-ray player, I already owns more than 11 movies titles - all bought from Amazon.com or Amazon.uk.

Now need to think of getting a good Blu-ray Rack for all my collection. Any suggestion?

My goal is to have 100 movies title by end of 2012.
Already surpassed 25...in about 1+ months.

Still have about 10+ movies in my wish list and waiting for the price to go down.

Going to Europe in February...hope to get more blu-ray there.

Hi Guys,

The latest deal is a real catch at amazon.co.uk

1. Back to the Future Trilogy at about 15 pound (after VAT reduction)
2. Casino Royale Deluxe Edition at about 7.5 pound (after VAT reduction)

Shipment is about RM12 per item. At the current exchange rate of RM4.88 to 1 pound, it is indeed very value for money as compare to buying locally.

Ya, review do help, I check review often as well. But sometimes I will purposely pick and watch badly review film to see how back the film are... haha.... and sorry la... not for buying it for seeing how bad there are.

I am a origin supporter but not a 100% supporter on every single items. At least I find myself support more origin than anyone I knew surrounding me.

Example, I buy a lot of Audio CD, but non is pirated copy, I support on iPhone apps but not 100% on it origin, around 50% I think... now I use Android phone and 80% apps is origin.

and I am sure my BD will be 90% origin on it as I love original packaging and also the quality on it.

I also never support on fake branded material, I rather choose unbranded thing if unable to support on it.

-----------------

I think the only I not use origin is PC software beside bundle Windows.... ops! tongue.gif haha! OK lah! topic end here.... not going to talk more about it.

Well said.

I am a 100% origin supporter since 8 years back. I am proud to say that I have never purchase a single fake or non-original DVD/CD/Blu-ray since 2003. Neither have I downloaded any movies nor drama - all the TVB drama that I watched is either through ASTRO or purchased from Speedy. Therefore my purchase is very limited to only blockbuster movies.

The same goes for other non-Audio/Video items like handbags - it's either original or I don't purchase at all. Many people call me crazy but it is something worth and I believe this is a correct education to the younger generation. My kids only knew purchasing DVDs from Speedy and they have never even thought of looking at those DVDs from Pasar Malam - and I am damn proud of that.

Now, I have cut down my purchase from Speedy - only through Amazon.

Cheers

2. Fast and Furious 4 Film Set at £14.99 (after VAT deduction)
3. Shipment to Malaysia at £5.27

Just want to ask if anybody has ever ordered bluray worth more than USD200 at one go? Would there be any issue with custom if the price of the package is worth more that this amount?

Or is there a maximum $$ amount before we get some issue with the custom?

Please share. Thanks

Can't seemed to find the page to report it to AMZ UK. Can anyone share a link for me, thanks.
*
Just to share my experience - I have ordered more than 10 times through AMZ UK. Excellent service

One parcel went missing - suppose to receive it on 14th Feb. Email them and the response

"The estimated delivery date given for this order was February 14th.

I appreciate the time you have taken to bring this to our attention. Unfortunately there can sometimes be unforeseen delays and as this parcel was not sent via a trackable method, I would in this case ask that you kindly wait until February 22nd at the very latest. This is the maximum time that you will be asked to wait, and your parcel may still be delivered before this date.

Amazon.co.uk takes full responsibility should your order not arrive by the date above, please contact us again on the above date by using the following link and we will assist you further:"

So I will be emailing them again tomorrow and hopefully they can send a replacement.

Well this is what Amazon.co.uk reply me today on the replacement of by lost BD

"If the original package should arrive before the replacement has been dispatched, please cancel your replacement order via the "Cancel item" button beside your order information in Your Account.

If the original package should arrive afterward, please keep the item with our compliments, as the cost of return of the package is prohibitively expensive in this case. Perhaps you would like to donate it to a charity in your area if you feel it would be appropriate to do so."

from AMZ UK

Need comment, which one to get ? The one from UK is a tad cheaper than the US copy.

I will go for Sapphire Edition. But perhaps you can also consider B&N which have this version cheaper than AMZ US.
Thus it will be almost equivalent to the AMZ UK.

This title is in my to-buy list in 2011.

Are we talking about the same B&N?

From 1/December/2011 until today 10/March/2011.

I already purchase 42 titles in total! (3 titles not yet coming)

Hmmmm...... seems a bit too much .... need to reduce purchasing already.

Dear Andrew

After reading your post, I can't help it but to say "I AM NOT ALONE"!!!

Similar to you, I have already got 40 titles with 2 more coming (from B&N) and a few more pre-order that will be released sometime this year. And all were purchased after Christmas. I think I am addicted and looking for a cure soon!!

Now, I am actively looking for a nice cabinet to store these Blu-rays..any suggestion?

hi all,

LATEST DEAL - DIEHARD COLLECTION - AMZ US - U$26 only!
4 movies - average U$7/disc

DIE 1 - a must, classic with ok BD quality
D2 - bad mv with low BD quality
D3 - my favourite, good action MV in good BD
D4 - very good BD for hometheater, surround effect kicks ass
*
I am also very tempted to purchase this - US26 is a really good deal.
However many review that there is some major issue with the PQ and AQ especially for Die Harder.

So the problem has not been rectified yet since last year? If that is the case, it is pointless to buy this as a collector item. Better wait until a better edition is out

DIEHARD2 is DTS-MASTER, just tested the disc & confirmed.

Then does that mean that the issue with the PQ/AQ of this DieHard2 has been rectified to an acceptable level by FOX or is it still an issue. USD26 for all four movies is really a good deal - especially to me as I have yet to even own them in DVD

hi,
I just revisted the DIE HARD BOX SET last night, my opinion is as follows:
DIE1 - been remastered & restored at a very acceptable quality.
DIE2 - not as bad as reviews claim, depends on what media u watch with. pls note D2 is made in 1989/1990 & the movie is not shoot at hi-def camera. it was filmed at tradisional way with lots of dark scence, in fact the whole mv took place at 1 night. I do not think fox rectified the problem, as i believe D2 looks acceptable.
DIE3-very good pic q.
DIE 4 - near demo.

I would say go ahead, U$26 is about 3 BD $. just consider buying D1,3 & 4 with bonus D2 in the price tag.

surprisingly, there is more ALIEN franchise fans than Diehard franchise. Actually Diehard Franchise made much more money for Fox than the Alien.

Thanks so much for the "poisoning" message icon_idea.gif

Ha ha ha,

Don't worry, I purchase my BD from AMZ US, AMZ UK (most of them), Speedy, overseas (during travelling).

Still in my to-get-list
1. 2012 - still wandering whether I should get this from Amazon Germany (Steebook Edition) or get the 3-disc edition from Amazon US?
2. Back to the Future Trilogy - should I get this from the AMZ US or UK? waiting for price to drop
3. Rambo 1-4 - Waiting for price to drop
4. GI Joe - No special edition? Price very high now!

I recently bought Robin Hood Steelbook edition while traveling in Belgium. It's a blind purchase as I know the UK version (also steelbook) is region free. But it cannot be played in my Player!!! Sob Sob...it can play the title and warning page but it stucked while it is trying to reach the Movie Menu. Anybody can help?

Yes, brother...if I am not holding back with my purchase, I should be able to match your number of titles in 36 months.
Please slow down your purchase so that I can play catch up!!!

no problem bro, i really need to slow down, my credir card bill just came & i am shock!  rclxub.gif

some motivation for RAMBO UK UK$17 only, (however not 7.1)
Thanks bro. Apparently I have done some research on this box-set as well. Some forumer (from overseas) claimed that despite the box-set printed as region-free, it only applied to the first 3 movies. The fourth movie - Rambo is Region B locked. That is why I am still waiting for the US boxset. But the set back is the 4th movie (Rambo) in the US box set is only standard edition - not the extended edition. So may need to buy the boxset for movie 1-3 and then the 4th movie extended version separately - meaning more money.

But since I have spent USD60+, no more money already. Need to wait till April.

Can anyone share with me on the purchase of BDs from B&N?
Bought 2 BDs and received an email that they have shipped on 25-Feb.

So far no news on the arrival and they did not also provide me with any tracking number. Similarly, bought a few BDs from Amazon a week after that and those parcel already arrived.

Wandering why it take so long for B&N. Have to admit that their shipment is somewhat cheaper than Amazon but that doesn't mean it will take significantly longer shipment period?

Let's hope they have are as accountable as AMZ when it comes to shipping. AMZ will re-ship if you complain about non-receiving for your parcel. I am not sure if B&N will do the same. This is the first time I am buying from B&N and it gave me not a very nice feeling about their shipment.
