Anyone know if by opening a Maybank Premier account get higher chances of approval when u apply through relationship manager? If my salary does not meet the minimum requirement? I heard credit card we are able to do FD pledge but not for Charge Card right?

Finally managed to call AMEX CS to redeem my MR to Etihadguest miles. Needed to do it before the redemption rate increased on 1/9.

Since I’ll never have enuff miles for free flight, Etihad also offers virtual Visa card at 150 miles for 1 USD.

Expected to get 250 USD for spending once the redemption is completed.

Going fwd, it looks harder to get decent amount as redemption will be changed from 5600 to 7500 for 1000 miles.

Bro, this time around guest miles, Thai orchid plus and sky miles from MR are not affected by the devaluation

Oh true also.

Anyway just needed to redeem anyway since want to use the visa card for cheap hotel bookings. Any little saving helps because I’ll never reach free flight eligibility since I’m not a biz traveler.

Anybody managed to get annual fee waive for Maybank American Express Amex Cash Back Gold Card from 2nd year onwards?

Could anyone using Amex Cashback Gold give some insight on the cashback on temporary credit increase scenario?

Say the card is with CL of RM5k, then temporary increase of CL is requested to RM10k. Is cashback still applicable for the RM5k that under temporary increase CL?

Without understanding more, I can only say worth or not depends on individual

1. Possible to request annual fee waive second year onward? if no, they will reward us with MR points whenever we pay the annual fee?
2. what is the international transaction fee like? 2.5% ?
3. possible to get approval if the annual income is about 30-40% lower than the required annual income of 190K ?

1. You need to pay annual fee upfront (for first year). They are quite strict on waiver, you may try to request if you spend >RM500k (or 1M). I think they will offer to offset AF with MR points too.

2. Recently tested around 1.5-2.5%. Quite hard to find a fixed % with fluctuating currency nowadays.

3. Again, they are quite strict in annual income requirement, even slightly above 190k they will ask for supporting documents prior submission for management approval.

Submitted my application for AMEX plat card on last Friday 9 Dec then today 12 Dec got approved already. CS help me applied as card upgrade/conversion from Gold Charge card to Platinum®
Waiting my card to emboss and ship out by this week CS said.

Income less than 190k? What income docs they asked for upgrade?
Can Share? Because I got Gold charge card as well.

They asked me to submit income document like form B, any passive income like FD, rental and etc.

I have been AMEX member since 2003, and holding other maybank credit cards for almost 10 years now... guess the management team will definitely look into your past payment history to determine approve you the card.

Which number you called, AMEX has several hotline to call.

So all your sub incomes add up got achieve 190k?

You may call CS at 1800 88 0886 , tell them you interested in getting platinum card, they will ask sales team to contact you on how to proceed with the application.

My income do not meet 190K… if you have account with Maybank and good payment record, they will consider it. Sales team will be able to advise you further.
