QUOTE(choonkeong @ Feb 4 2011, 04:06 PM)
There is a rumor of the OCBC Ti 5% going to end on the coming JUNE by a CS at OCBC Taiping branch.
It is ridiculous and I do not believe that.
Any one working at OCBC can clarify that?
*
Put it this way ... the only reason OCBC Ti is a big hit is because of the rebate.
Remove the rebate and the card is worthless. This doesn't require any rocket scientist to figure out and you don't need anyone in OCBC to tell you this.
Doing this ... you'll see a mass cancellation of OCBC TI and I don't think OCBC is that stupid to destroy their own market share.
If that happens ... just cancel the card. Easy solution ... and not as if it will be a tough and complicated decision to make.

Still if it is from OCBC, I wouldn't trust it unless it is a press release or a public announcement from a senior person in OCBC HQ. Some CS rumor is not going to cut it.

P/S I don't understand why people easy to jump @ rumors but when people tell them the truth then they don't believe.

I must say erry got some level of confidence to repeatedly give out advise.
Some folks appreciate his helpfulness although I would like to throw some caution to his advise. I got rebutted by some forummer when I made a note of erry's comments.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Feb 4 2011, 10:37 AM)
as for erry, he does give info that is good but may be outdated and that may mislead others, for the case of smiles points where he mentioned his petrol station gave extra promotional points months ago and people like PPZ and jack2 got the impression that they get 2.5% with Smiles Points. But can't blame erry when people don't pay attention to what is written.
*
regarding the esso/mobil, that time i did wrote complete details - only selected esso/mobil at kajang area from oct-dec offer 2x points, which equal to 3%, not 2.5% notworthy.gif

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Feb 4 2011, 08:49 AM)
well, since you don't believe and you giving advise to others, why don't you go and pump at ESSO with your MBB CC and then find it out for yourself and report back here  tongue.gif

We would not simply speculate this issue. It would be better to patiently wait for the first 2 months' statements and then we could get the definite answer.

my normal mbb visa, GST had been charged early than annual fee! doh.gif

how can GST being charged if not even the date of annivessary yet? hmm.gif

nvm actually, coz both i get the waiver (annual fee free for 3 years, gst will be given 10k TP).
but, annual fee waived within same statement, but GST credited back (auto redeem TP) after 4 months ~
now my mbb got negative balance (GST credited minus recent/unbilled transaction) laugh.gif

I have renewed my Motor Insurance thru Etiqa Oneline 1300138888 with AMEX and 10% rebate today.
They are not going to charge my MBBKARD 2 AMEX today because their processing departmant is not working.
Monday charge means my 5% cash back going to fly away but still have 5TP. mad.gif

From July 2010 onwards, if you buy motor insurance yourself directly from insurance company without going through insurance agent, you can immediately get 5% rebate. Renewal in the second year will get a 10% rebate.

I did the same last year which entitles 5% on Feb 2010.
If I am not mistaken, 5 % started JULY 2009, 10% started JULY 2010.

Not very sure what you mean, but if you are seeking to increase your current credit limit, just provide latest 3 months payslip and request for an limit increase at the branch.

If you are applying new cards, you can always provide your latest payslip instead of using your current card as supporting documents provided that your payslip met the requirements for whichever card you are going to apply.

Based on my experience, i hold a HSBC classic for 2 years and was rejected by various banks during application. By providing payslip, my cards approved with higher limit, and of course, better benefits. tongue.gif
