Can you imagine how loud the crowds would chant KD name at Anfield this Sunday?
Hope KD able to sort out the line up problem. LB for Glen Johnson just doesn't work IMO, if Aurelio not available I would choose Konchesky instead, at least that's his natural position. While Maxi Rodriguez should start as LM for this game. Jovanovic on our previous game is pretty rusty. Joe Cole maybe can play an attacking role linking up Torres or as RM to replace the tired Kuyt. |

Johnson - Kelly - Agger - Skrtel - Aurelio Let the 2 full back going forwards, as Johnson is good in attacking but weak in defending, while Aurelio is good at putting crosses in. One thing is that, Liv doesn't have aerial attacking power in attack, which is one of weak link. If on the ground cannot break down opponent, aka you cannot play fluid football on the ground, then you need to use the aerial route. Somemore, without aerial attacking power, it just means, little chance to score in corner kick. Only Krygiakos has the aerial power for corner, like Hyypia, but Krygiakos defending is questionable. |

Viola linked with Agger move
By ESPNsoccernet staff Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is reported to be negotiating terms with Fiorentina. Daniel Agger PA PhotosDaniel Agger could be on his way out of Anfield • Agger demands first-team football • Babel accepts FA charge Agger, 26, warned recently that he would look to leave the club if he was not a first-team regular. There appears little reason for the player to act on that threat - he has made four appearances already in January, starting both games since Kenny Dalglish took charge - but FIFA agent Bernardo Brovarone has claimed he is now discussing a move to Italy. "The Viola have put forward a contract proposal to Agger, offering him €1.5 million, but he wants €2 million per season," he told Lady Radio. "Now we have to wait and see what Liverpool say about it." Agger, who joined Liverpool from Brondby in 2006, has also been linked with Tottenham, Arsenal and Juventus. Souce: Soccernet! |

QUOTE(koolspyda @ Jan 14 2011, 08:10 AM) Looking back we were desperate to catch up with the money game with ManU, chelsea, arsenal, and we were hoodwinked by some slick texans with mountains of promises but instead they punctured a hole into a bulldozing tanker which eventually ran aground last season. I would absolve any blame of rafa, .. maybe he took too much upon himself to fight the 2 devils that he lost the focus to motivate & prepare the players but it was the 2 devils that cursed LFc soul. That is my gripe with Rafa. Whilst I completely understand the frustration at not being given what he was promised i.e. money, I expect him to get on with his job and not jepordise team morale by constantly undermining the team that he has by stating repeatedly that he needs money to buy new players. Almost anyone could empathise with his predicament but if you ask me, it does the team no good that you blame our poor form last season squarely on the lack of money. While he could do nothing to change that, he could address morale issues which he failed to do so. Are the players to blame? Sure but a part of being a manager i.e. leader is to ensure that you instill fire in their bellies. Maybe we weren't going to win the league, but we should not have dropped points at home against relegation candidates. |

I think the Rafa situation was far more complex rather than a simple case of Rafa should just focus on his job.
The crux of it was that he became far too attached to Liverpool and tried to do too much. He took it upon himself to fight for the fan's corner and the lack of football minds and leadership in the Liverpool hierarchy meant he had to do the bulk of the work of developing not just the first team, but the entire football aspect of the club. So naturally, things became far too complicated and Rafa was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of responsibilities. I really do feel at the end of the day, Rafa himself became the victim of the mess that was created by G+H. The toxic working environment made him bitter and he became increasingly agitated to just carry on with his job. Rafa of last season wasnt the same Rafa we first knew. He fought for us and the club, but at the end he was consumed by the G+H cancer. |

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jan 14 2011, 01:02 PM) He's an attention seeking gooner who posts rubbish. "i need more (quality) men" rafa. "we have talent but the keys players do get injured in a season, & we rely too much on ...". I sure that is the exact scenario at melwood. That is my gripe with Rafa. Whilst I completely understand the frustration at not being given what he was promised i.e. money, I expect him to get on with his job and not jepordise team morale by constantly undermining the team that he has by stating repeatedly that he needs money to buy new players. Maybe we weren't going to win the league, but we should not have dropped points at home against relegation candidates. yes the way i see it, we are on the same page on rafa's failure to nip it & instead the constants fighting or griping. I cannot & could not defend his misjudgement to his first piority which was to manage the lfc. (even with constants media harping, fans expectations etc), but as hfi pointed out the are my sympathies too for rafa a pararell situation if one would allow me to draw, AW work at arsenal now. (in todays bob holmes column, the gunners are liken to a 'best-dressed' guy at the dance but never getting the girl. the fans & esp media have been patient. (i know he won with gunners b4 & its more than 5 years at a single trophy) I'm saying if rafa had not the media & the owners grovels to shovel & with some pocket change for better quality players just maybe we'll still be in a fight. Yes, your are right, rafa lost sight in his final season but we were building quite nicely untill the owners said what we accumalated in winnings, CL gates attendances $$ will not go to buying new players but you have to sell to raise funds. deadwood players dont raise much, to chase good talent, go hire the better ones. ok lets move on, rafa is yesterday now. back to KD. the first thing (as i have said) we need some belief. At the current situation we'll be realistic even if we win all games in hand, we cant win the league. not this year, not in the foreceable future unless we invest & have the academy chums graduate well. but look across to london, great academy, (almost) stingiest buys (still better then us).. even at arsenal with all the young talented players, they havent the opportuntiy to court the 'pretty girl' in seasons. (no disrespect to fan of AW, we all (non gunners fans) like he did but somehow we all know you have to dig in or play ugly to win) This post has been edited by koolspyda: Jan 14 2011, 03:09 PM |

I want to win the league as much as the next fan but the best we can hope for is that club is run professionally and implement a long term plan to reinvent this club.
I want us to break away from the image that players come here because we so happen to be a prestigious European club some 20 odd years ago. Basically i want to see us become a football institute in the caliber of Barca - a club with a clear vision and built to materialize that vision. They're not just a club that play good football but they have this unique football culture and philosophy that is light years ahead of everyone else. If that prove to impossible then i wouldnt mind settling for something less like Lyon - a club that has been designed to not be player or manager dependent. They are not as massive and pretty as Barca but they do have a stable structure, progressive youth development and can adapt to whatever situation. |
