I see.

So when the vcore just hit 1.38v while juiced 4.8GHz, aftermarket air cooling will struggle to handle its cpu temp?

*seeking some information before getting new cpu and mobo

it depends on what software u use to stress ur OC settings...
noctua nh-d14 is one of the best air cooler available...
if u stress using prime95 usually the temp is lower than u stress using Linx...
latest Linx+W7 SP1 will generate more heat compare to SP0...so be careful if u using aftermarket air cooler...

just to be on safe side, i'd go for 1.450 VCore for 4.8GHz (i7 2600K) running. load temp on LinX was ±90°C and 3hrs game, ranging from 70°C to 85°C ~ without air-cond running. i think it's all right for ThermalRight Venomous X Black with push-pull 120mm fan.

no luck with mine.. cry.gif
at 1.40 vcore 4.8ghz, it goes BSOD b4 booting into windows..
so i guess that's the highest vcore i would try, no more further as i dont dare to do so.. sweat.gif
now settling with 4.5ghz 1.33vcore, load temp 74c with LinX + SP1 non-A/C room..
running on modded H50 block+pump with 360 rad..
