and i wondering, why there's one lowest temperature reading quite low if you check the screenshot. |

QUOTE(BeastX @ Jun 23 2011, 09:39 AM) Overclocking is certainly new challenge on Sandy-Bridge. what cooling solutions you're using?2600k, Asrock Z68 Extreme4. Achievement: 4.6GHz, CPU voltage Level 1, 1.320v (+0.012v turbo)..... sustained 4.6GHz 100% stress @ around 115W@ max around 85C, idle @25C, ambient 22-23C Might try dropping the CPU voltage and upping the turbo ramping voltage.. |

![]() 1st attempt using manual overvoltage, not using the LLC (i set to Ultra High though). 4.8GHz (100 x48), 1:6 DRAM BIOS VCore : 1.4500, on load CPUz : 1.448 what i don't understand, why the temperature reading on different got so much differences? i mean, if ±1-2°C ok la, but up to 8°C~10°C...? |

in the BIOS easier, no OS freezing (unless too push to the limits)
overclocking need to be patient, increase with small increment and do the stability test, back in 2005/2006, only can do Prime95 which is time consuming, now, can just use LinX, it's fast and pass the 20 run tests, considered stable already. |

QUOTE(jeff88rey @ Jul 10 2011, 03:04 PM) Not really for me.. I can pass 50 runs of linx but still bsod after long time using it well then, i think it's your other hardware related causing the BSOD, it could the heating RAM, graphic card or other causesQUOTE(selfdz87 @ Jul 10 2011, 04:15 PM) yeah,me too....pass 20 linX is enuf for my daily usage... what's with W7 SP1? that voltage reading? because i never use on W7 non-SP1im not a hard core gamer or do folding @ home... but linX in W7 SP1 really give me a headache... |

just to be on safe side, i'd go for 1.450 VCore for 4.8GHz (i7 2600K) running. load temp on LinX was ±90°C and 3hrs game, ranging from 70°C to 85°C ~ without air-cond running. i think it's all right for ThermalRight Venomous X Black with push-pull 120mm fan.

@stasio
done with updating latest BETA BIOS for my P8Z68-V Pro... nothing new, nothing difference, it's just claimed to be "better stability" BIOS. |

QUOTE(selfdz87 @ Jul 20 2011, 09:58 PM) watercooled bro... 98°C, yes throttled down, that's what i hate it when it happens... at first i thought, whoah, stable... but then looking at the LinX GFlops... 1.5v bios...1.496v load(cpu-z) 98c cpu speed not throttle down? i think it's time for me to migrate to watercooling solution after; lol... i never tried watercooling before... |
