insist on warranty card ler.. if not better keep ur receipt well. Bass.. yeah mine to.. was expecting more like 680.. it feel like tune down, but a better sound card helps to.
Try putting ur sub underneath ur table or sumthing?
*
yeah put on the floor d. now need to email the logitech folks to see wat methods can be used to see if the sub is performing to spec.

Boomy ? No way! I'm using this speaker for a week now and i think it's not boomy at all. It really depends on where you place your speaker, the stuffs around it and where you put it. I used to use a Gigaworks S750, good speaker but the amp blew up. doh.gif So i end up with this speaker instead. Hope it's reliable. I noticed it has auto off system if it overheats (in the manual...). =o

Anyhow, i was using stereo speaker only in between the S750 and this Z-5500. Oh how i missed surround sound in games and movies. cry.gif

S750 and d best 5.1 multimedia speakers Klipsch PM5.1 Ultra were using the BASH amp which is famous in overheating...

Logitech is famous in burning fuses, so its more reliable(cheaper i'd say) and u can easily swap it wif those slow burns...

That is why after very long time consideration. I has been decided to leave all High End pc speaker such 3 top brands:

Logitech Z5500 RM1499 Cons: When do listen music, a lot ppl said its sound crap. I read review from Mat Salleh also said that too doh.gif

Klipsch PM5.1 RM17xx Cons: No dts decoder. Sound i din know. As u guy say, overheated issue doh.gif

Gigawork S750 RM1xxx Cons: No dts decoder. As u guy say, overheated issue.

So, I made it for Yamaha RX-V361 (5x100 watt rms) dolby, dts decoder etc and Yamaha NS-P430 (5.1) (Used spk) for total RM900 + RM480 = RM1380 + 50 (Coaxial cable)

Of course, this set no problem for movie booming at all.....and it is expanable in future thumbup.gif

Mat salleh say bass covered the surround sound. When listen music, if with analog signal, totally crap according one lowyater previous thread, he did test side by side

Of course, i used to listen during pc fair, z5500 can booming so loud even in PISA fair arena sweat.gif But like that also bad ma, sub woofer die fast leh sweat.gif

well, from my experience, listen to music with analog connection is a crap...no doubt about about it...
try using digital coax or optical, sure u'll find another paradise...

this is not enough, play music with "Foobar2000", using "ASIO Output"..
"Noise Sharpening" & "EQ" in the DSP Manager...

this enable u to tune/control the clarity [Noise Sharpening] and the level of the bass [EQ] if the bass is too much....

then use Stereo X2 on the Z5500...

this is my setup, really enjoy it with any kind of music...

Hi everyone,
I have been using Z-680 for 4-5 years now, and this is what i think.
If u use coaxial or optical the sound quality is the same. If u use computer sound card, the bass is not nice in other words boomy.
As for coaxial/optical it is important to see what source u use. I have a 2 dvd player(1 china brand and 1 pioneer 393s) and of course my ps2. For the china brand, the quality is not good and can be heard very clearly especially using music cd compare to the pioneer. But i feel that the ps2 is better compare to the pioneer dvd player. I think this could be the reason why some dvd player or more expensive than others!!! However i think there is no difference in sound quality when it comes to DTS or DD.

based on my personal experience..

u'll like z5300 if u never heard z5500, after u heard(bought) the z5500...compare head to head, u'll hate urself for spending such a money for this **** !

if u really like logitech and other alternatives doesnt attracts u,no reason not going for z5500(and after u bought it dont check Aego's thread, poisoness)
