Ubuntu users won't get this gnome 3 as mr shuttlecock has decided to use unity for their next de. Well, good news to mint users as they will stick with gnome and not following ubuntu that will migrate to unity.

to think about it, they will get a bucketload of works now since they use ubuntu as base. need to maintain gnome3 package exclusively for mint hmm.gif

Recently my hand got itchy and try Debian Lenny stable version on an old Compaq computer with Pentium 4 2.0GHz, 256MB RAM and 20GB hard disk. Everything install ok except that my wireless USB doesn't work. Its an Azrtec wireless USB adapter and the firmware is Ralink rt25xxUSB or rt73usb I think. I try the Debian forum but no help. Anybody got any idea how to install the drivers or firmware?

i think newer vanilla debian kernel had many proprietary firmware/driver got remove from it, because the next debian stable will had 100% free kernel, with absolutely no proprietary things in it.. u had to installed it manually, or use custom build kernel like liquorix

Added on January 30, 2011, 8:43 pmsuddenly out of nowhere, got gpg error from hadret's repo today rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

great news for ubuntu/linuxmint user.. Kendall Weaver, a dev from linuxmint/peppermintos had created a custom build liquorix kernel that can work with ubuntu/linuxmint/peppermintos and added it to his PPA. this custom built liquorix kernel is also a PAE or BIGMEM built so can fully utilize ur huge ram smile.gif

thats for ubuntu/linuxmint/peppermintos.. it uses same patch from liquorix 2.6.37-5 which is in "future" release in liquorix repo..i think if u track liquorix future repo, u should get 2.6.37 kernel. i'm tracking liquorix main repo and now its 2.6.36-3, same as u smile.gif

last week 2.6.37-0.dmz.3 got into liquorix main repo, i installed it but got error with cgroup. reported it in liquorix forum then it just dissapear from liquorix main repo. i guess damentz had pulled that problematic 2.6.37-0.dmz.3 from main repo hmm.gif hmm.gif
