thinking of changing distro again.. got tired of ubuntu 6month release cycle 
wanna install rolling release distro like linuxmint debian edition and get update everyday 
or does anyone know any other rolling release distro based on debian?

What I love about jdownloader is link grabber, I can copy continuous URL from megaupload and paste it into jdownloader. Disable the ip check and check all to continue downloading without need to wait extra queue for non premium account holder. Even we can't do downloading all the files at the same time, but keeping them in a row and let jdownloader download one by one is consider good for me.  [attachmentid=1982051]

Jdownloader can be integrate with flashgot in firefox, for goggle chrome it has jdownloader intergration But I never try it.

If you configure the module assistant like I said (the "m-a a-i" line above), you (in theory) don't need to re-enable the Nvidia drivers each time.

BUT.....

There are exceptions and sometimes you'll need to perform additional steps, particularly if you're on a volatile setup with mixed Unstable/Experimental sources/packages/kernels.

If so, you can try performing these additional steps each time you get a new kernel version, and reboot/restart X;



For me, the best metcho if you run a constantly changing (rolling) system is to use the Aptosid/Sidux recommended method, but this requires a specific package called dmakms that's only available by adding Aptosid sources, so your mileage may vary.
You don't really need this if you use a Debian Squeeze/Testing setup, though...

Hey guys, I have a problem.

It seems mine cannot detect the battery type, charge, status and what not. It's always
"laptop battery is charged"

Then I see the history, details, statistics, all 0% information.
Is it a problem with mine? Then the battery bar is always full. Two times already my machine auto-shut because of this. There's no way for me to know the true charge and remaining time.

on debian, vlc still 1.1.3 in testing and unstable.. while 1.1.6-1 is in experimental, but only for amd64 and sparc platform. the rest platform is still 1.1.5-3

thats wierd    i'm using vlc 1.1.5-3 grabbed from experimental for almost 2 weeks without a problem

try to purge all vlc 1.1.3-1 package first. i think i also got that problem, cant really remember. at last i purge all vlc 1.1.3-1 then install clean vlc 1.1.5-3 with synaptic using force version

now this is true bleeding edge. way ahead of u guys
