QUOTE(cocooh @ Dec 28 2010, 09:55 PM) well, just kill it. Now this is the time we try something different other than ubuntu. Long term relationship with ubuntu is not good for your health. Still Mint 10 is a forked version of Maverick, it won't too hard for you to handle they used the same the commands such as apt-get or ppa. |

QUOTE(cocooh @ Dec 28 2010, 10:06 PM) Mint is working at fullest out of the box, you have the working restricted multimedia codecs i.e flash, libdvdcss, w32codecs, adobe... without any hassle to find link or additional ppa to get them to work. |

I wonder why you guys are installing many repos, PPAs, etc. I only installed 2 external repos, adobe repos and rpmfusion, no more, everything I need is there, if not, I'll search for an RPM or compile it from the source code. Simple as that.

How is it compared to OpenOffice? Coz sometime I'm having layout/design problem when opening a MS Word 2007 format with OpenOffice This post has been edited by GameSky: Dec 29 2010, 10:31 AM |

To feel the true experiences of distro, am prefer to hard installed it rather than use any of these live media, usb, virtual etc etc . Off course we need bigger capacity of hd.

AFAIK, OpenOffice is kind of dead and LibreOffice, a fork of OpenOffice by Google, may has a better compatibility with MS Office, since it's development is active.
