Currently trying AWN
QUOTE(powerwoot @ Dec 28 2010, 10:02 PM) well, just kill it. Now this is the time we try something different other than ubuntu. Long term relationship with ubuntu is not good for your health. Still Mint 10 is a forked version of Maverick, it won't too hard for you to handle they used the same the commands such as apt-get or ppa. Too lazy to kill existing ubuntu if it was me, set a lot stuff already Might try mint if there's another laptop available |

since I've to repartition / anyway ..so oh well..clean install :/ Added on December 29, 2010, 1:28 pmscreamyx is just fking slow...even local update mirror from upm/mmu also fking slow...==; Added on December 29, 2010, 1:49 pm QUOTE(-Hzu- @ Dec 29 2010, 10:59 AM) AFAIK, OpenOffice is kind of dead and LibreOffice, a fork of OpenOffice by Google, may has a better compatibility with MS Office, since it's development is active. from what I read...it seems openoffice developers aren't happy with the oracle management.. :/This post has been edited by GameSky: Dec 29 2010, 01:49 PM |

ok, I got this problem now.
After installed the kernel, ubuntu won't boot, just no disk activity with the bootlogo moving only. Pressed ESC and see the "setting up fstab" in background...nothing else. In the end still using the same "ol'" kernel :/ ...anyone facing these problem before? |

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Dec 30 2010, 07:37 PM) i can't install LMDE. keep stucked at copying file when installing when on kernel 2.6.35-24 which is the "default" kernel for ubuntu now, it running fine. Once I'm using 2.6.36 stable or above, it will shows "setting up fstab" during boot, and nothing else, no activities.@GameSky did you check your fstab setting? since u said it stucked at "setting up fstab" It would be funny if my fstab settings are corrupted, else the 2.6.35-24 won't boot either, but it can, tho |

10.10 seems not really "that" stable as I thought |
