Not to worry I never expect anything from people who submit their resume's. Most of the time it's how their resume's look. Some are straight forward and some are very intricate. We always look out for those who just write what they think is neccessary although sometimes some do too much. Once my dad (during his time lah) hired an SPM holder over a Uni grad, why? cos the SPM holder only said what was important and cut thru all the BS while the UNi holder had soo many plans he started to BS his way during the interview. Mind you all the other Marine captains in the company agreed to take the SPM holder as well. We have no time for people who BS really.

Having connections do help but sometimes we do not want to rely on them cos we do not want people to think that we are hired cos we know somebody etc. It's best to get in on your own merit, but I do understand sometimes ur c.v. just goes to one person and sits there. I do not recommend anyone i have not worked with I just help to forward c.v.'s to people i think may need a vacancy filled.

can tell me which company u have applied? the schlumberger website seems abit strange to me.. when i press Malaysia..it has no region..(for registration)

@hitsugaya those big companies came to utm each year fr recruitment. But I never hv d chance since they want a 3.50 and above. I've applied for so many companies I can't list them here. A lot. Fr slb u hv to register first n then use the job search.

i think cpga plays an important role in applying job in oil and gas. normally those big companies take top students. i also below 3.5. can't register. something wrong with their website..or my computer.. anyhow.. thanks all the best to u!

SKG, SKB is course code of UTM, nvm then. Result is not an important aspects in terms of screening. I'm getting above cgpa 3.5 but still i find it hard to go into those MNC oil companies. i applied hundereds application , both local and overseas OnG but no news. what i do now is keep trying.....

hahaha..so far i know..Shell dun just see ur cpga..they see also ur extra activities... but like Exxon they really want first class students... btw.. having higher cpga have a higher chance because they first screen cpga then only extra activities...that's what i think... hahaha..

Btw, its not FKKKSA anymore. Petroleum n gas combined into one new fac, FPREE. while new intakes for bioprocess, polymer won't be available starting this sem.

Skg; chemical-gas. Skb, chem-bioprocess. My results is still above 3. A little. Haha.

wow...i see...currently my cgpa is still above 3...but if worst come to worst, if my cgpa dropped to around 2.5 (choi~~~), will i still be able to get job in slb, halli or weatherford? what if i did my intern in these places? will they still employ me?
