Hello,

I have been working in the O&G industry for almost 15 years. The last 1 year is in Saudi Arabia after I resigned from my first company.

Firstly, let me say that those working in the O&G companies are very well paid. A fresh grad earns about RM3500 while a manager earns > RM15k a month. If you have some experience you can apply for many jobs in the middle east which pays about double than Malaysia. That's because the O&G industry is expanding rapidly (despite the depleting resource) and everyone is competing for the same human resource.

I suggest you try thinkplusmanpower.com for interview schedules all over Malaysia.

U even have the chance to choose?U sure? And all big companies? Nice.  cool2.gif My advice is opt for small companies and learn more. During my internship in Miri I received hysys training everyday for abt 3-4 months. Small company, small allowance BUT u get to learn something. And the training I received help a lot during my final year as plant design required hysys skill so I have no regret. And I believe many O&G companies seeking people with that kind of skill too.
I'm not officially in the field but yeah, counting you in!
I am sooo sorry..Yesterday in JB now in KL,going to to Kch tmrw and Miri after that for interviews. Been travelling here and there suddenly got called for interview makes my plan a little mess, despite replying in this forum (can't resist not to reply) I'm a bit busy actually. Will send you my resume but pls don't put any high expectation.. Despite getting called by slb n baker my grade is not that good. And pls do comment on me (cover letter, resume) so I can improve.

Observing from this forum, I think O&G people are cool to hangout with!  biggrin.gif

Hi there. As for now I have not yet received any interviews invitation through any personal connection. Having connection is way easier but doesn't mean you have to rely on them all the time. Keep trying! Might use my connection for final solution if I failed these coming interviews though. haha. Have to. Can't stay spending money without any income. Later kena halau dari rumah.

i think as long as u keep it under 2nd upper class, the chances are there plus with ur own experience.. u will have a big advantage with those dun have. and it will be good if u know how to use some softwares related to your job scope. my frend told me, shell even take a student with 3.1, so anything is possible.. the condition is dun give up... if cannot get big companies get local companies to gain experience.. hahaha.. that's what i'm gonna do now..haha..
