Bros what about SLB IPM? IPM = Integrated Project Management..

I originally applied for Field Engineer position but they ended up planning to interview me for IMP.

Anyone knows about this IPM thingy? I checked th website, it sounds prestigious but not sure if its just marketing. I also cannot seem to find much information regarding the training, working lifestyle and salaries WITHIN IPM.

Thanks!

what you guys need to do is network! That's how i got my job and subsequently more and more after that. Just remember be good at your job and dun play politics, that will get you noticed and wanted. I've been very lucky going freelance and kept getting offers month after month that i pick and choose which job to take up. Seriously guys, you really need to get out there and mingle with the people in the industry and network. Put yourself out there.

Then when u get the job, plse not to ignore this thread, try to help us who have tried hndred times just for one interview.

Start by sending your resume through their website. I applied from there. Each of the company have their career section, mostly. I believe there's a list of O&G companies and their websites in this thread. Dig it. Good luck!

Welding

AWS

NDT

Nebosh

IRCA

it would be best if one with combination of welding certification (CWSIP level III) + NDT ASNT TC-1A (PT, MPI, UT, RT level III) + HSE (Nebosh) + ISO 9001/14000/OHSAS 18000 IRCA.

Hello,

I have been working in the O&G industry for almost 15 years. The last 1 year is in Saudi Arabia after I resigned from my first company.

Firstly, let me say that those working in the O&G companies are very well paid. A fresh grad earns about RM3500 while a manager earns > RM15k a month. If you have some experience you can apply for many jobs in the middle east which pays about double than Malaysia. That's because the O&G industry is expanding rapidly (despite the depleting resource) and everyone is competing for the same human resource.

I suggest you try thinkplusmanpower.com for interview schedules all over Malaysia.

he resigned cos he chose early retirement most likely and as for managers yeah the salary starts at 15k and goes up to ( if you do projects and freelance) USD 2.5k a day. It does sound like a ridiculous amount but those in the know will know it aint the highest.

As for buying OnG ppl alcohol, well you know the saying in business right? It takes money to MAKE money! hehehe.

come buy me a bottle sometime and i'll intro you to the players and head hunters if u're 1.sporting, 2.able to handle alcohol and 3. a hot chick! hehehe. That will get you noticed for sure! lol

Hi everyone,

i notice althou there are alot of vacancies out there, they dun really need fresh graduates and they alwiz looking for more experience ppl. i'm a fresh graduate Chemical Engineering from UMS. been applying alot of companies since my last sem of study which is 4 months ago.... still cannot get any interviews. i have been changing the style of my cover letter and resume as well many times..because i thought these two are prohibiting me from getting any interviews. but i found out some of friends getting offer from those oil and gas companies. their results is almost the same as me. i even try to mimic their style of cover letter and also resume. As a fresh graduate, what they are looking for and what should i do in order to get notice... i haven't give up on applying thou.. haha.. any managers here for any decent advice? will be fantastically appreciate it...Thanks.

OO i like preakzz already! hahaha anyways, dun think i've seen ur resume in my in box? i think u would stand out as being the only female candidate? lol

hitsugaya2010, u're most probably sending ur resume's to the wrong person. You see in OnG there are various divisions and ur email thru the website will usually take AGES before you get any response, cos the group would see ur resume then check to see if any requests have been made by the other division. And guess what? the other divisions usually do not send requests up there until they really cant find a candidate suitable for a post available. So that's why networking is important. In such big organisations most of the time its the person in charge of a particular dept or division is the one that will decide. So best for your c.v. to get to that person first before he source out elsewhere.

U even have the chance to choose?U sure? And all big companies? Nice. cool2.gif My advice is opt for small companies and learn more. During my internship in Miri I received hysys training everyday for abt 3-4 months. Small company, small allowance BUT u get to learn something. And the training I received help a lot during my final year as plant design required hysys skill so I have no regret. And I believe many O&G companies seeking people with that kind of skill too.

I am sooo sorry..Yesterday in JB now in KL,going to to Kch tmrw and Miri after that for interviews. Been travelling here and there suddenly got called for interview makes my plan a little mess, despite replying in this forum (can't resist not to reply) I'm a bit busy actually. Will send you my resume but pls don't put any high expectation.. Despite getting called by slb n baker my grade is not that good. And pls do comment on me (cover letter, resume) so I can improve.

Observing from this forum, I think O&G people are cool to hangout with! biggrin.gif

Hi there. As for now I have not yet received any interviews invitation through any personal connection. Having connection is way easier but doesn't mean you have to rely on them all the time. Keep trying! Might use my connection for final solution if I failed these coming interviews though. haha. Have to. Can't stay spending money without any income. Later kena halau dari rumah.
