QUOTE(ThanatosSwiftfire @ May 5 2015, 03:56 PM) Do you really waNt to join audit? Had your interview? If no, hopefully a partner is the one interviewing you. You can ask for an aCcelerated promotion if you can demonstrate a strong grasp of the audit methodology. Ive had some colleagues last time who joined from a mid firm.. downgraded to associate and move up to senior within 6 months. So yea.. once you join, show your ability and ask to be on the big jobs and get a strong sm to support you. I feel like struck in the second line manager level right now and I would like to stay in practices and hope that if there is chances for me to own a practice? maybe. yup. I got the job offer as associate, but I noticed that I will missed the current year promotion cycle if I join now. As HR said, this is highly unlikely to promote me to senior associate in coming July or Dec. Which means that only can wait until next July which I need to stay as associate level for more than one year. This post has been edited by winkk87: May 5 2015, 05:29 PM

Easier for you to build visibility and get the necessary support. When you get promoted doesnt matter as much. If its not firm, then look elsewhere ba.

Just wondering for those working in the tax department in the Big4, are you always being monitored when you are doing work in the office? As in, your manager will discreetly stand behind you and check what u r doing?

Hi all, i am fresh graduate in commerce accounting degree. I am looking forward to enter into financial sector(investment), but I dont have much knowledge regarding financial sector as my degree is more focus on auditing and accounting. I intended to work as auditor in Big4(hopefully) while taking CFA qualification paper. Then maybe in few years time jump to bank sector. Or do you guys have any recommendation for me to foster my knowledge in financial or investment field ? Kinda lost after complete my degree.. any advice will be appreaciated o.o

Hello fellow accountants! Could anyone care to shed some light about Transfer Pricing? I would like to know about pros and cons doing TP, how is it like to work in TP and the career progression. All I know about TP is the work of financial analysis and fund transfer within an organization. Thank you very much

QUOTE(alwayshappy @ Apr 4 2015, 05:04 PM) Frankly speaking, it's not a good time to join EY now as you will have just missed the cutoff line for annual performance review. Their annual progression or probation is in October every year. So if you join now, you will stay in the same rank for about 18 months before progressing/ promoting to the next rank. Other big 4s have two performance reviews per year so you don't have to wait for too long if you are good enough to be promoted Agreed with this. Dono why ey only have a review each year. Their appraisal is in June. So if u joined in Jan u r stuck for a year and half.
