QUOTE(alijoe @ Jan 11 2011, 11:36 PM) Does the amoled version really that good compared to current SLCD? Been googling around, some said battery performace still gud on amoled etc etc. Quote from Wikipedia, which IMO explains everything,QUOTE During late Q2 2010, HTC made the decision to switch the Desire's display to a Sony "Super LCD" panel. Although this was brought on by a severe AMOLED panel supply shortfall, the new display greatly enhances text readability because of its improved effective resolution, one of the few complaints people had with the original Desire model. Compared to the original AMOLED display, the SLCD display has more accurate color reproduction, far less susceptibility to burn-in, similar peak brightness and optimal viewing angles, but a lower contrast ratio. The new SLCD display was claimed to have similar or better power efficiency compared with the original AMOLED display; however, this has proved to not always be the case because with AMOLED pixels' ability to completely turn off, black or dark pixels use very little power.[3] However, in situations when the screen is predominantly bright (such as when viewing many web pages), the AMOLED display uses more power. QUOTE(rattan @ Jan 12 2011, 12:01 AM) Interesting. Never happened to me. Tried with Aztech and 2 random China brand (TP-Link and something else), didn't happen.Could be your router. Can you try detect with Laptop? or a wireless card on PC? if both can detect then try to soft-reset your phone. If still can't detect your wifi then... :S If still cannot then, gotta ask someone else more pro Added on January 12, 2011, 12:12 am QUOTE(hazril @ Jan 12 2011, 12:02 AM) boot time has been reduced...internal memory on 1st boot 144mb....battery life cant comment yet...i didnt calibrate it yet...if you were using leedroid for a few build, you will see the difference...put this theme and you will have an awesome rom... So far I realize only dlink (dir6xx) model. Also another router which brand is not known. Surprisingly even iPhone could not detect the network, but PC can detect.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827863 Added on January 12, 2011, 12:04 am only with dlink ka bro?other brand got same problem? Bro, i was using LeeDroid 2.3d before and stability is one of the advantages for this ROM. But in term of speed as you claim is blazing fast, is it faster the Oxygen Gingerbread ROM? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827863 Added on January 12, 2011, 12:04 am only with dlink ka bro?other brand got same problem? I switched to Oxygen GingerBread Rom becoz of it's speed and i can really feel it for example, when you go to setting-application. In LeeDroid, it will take a few sec to load the software icon, same as in Titanium Backup. And also when you turn your screen it will also take 1 to 2 sec to turn. In Oxygen Gingerbread ROM, the application icon in setting application and titanium backup are instantly shown. Is the latest LeeDroid ROM can go as fast as Gingerbread? |

But in term of speed as you claim is blazing fast, is it faster the Oxygen Gingerbread ROM? you cant compare Sense base rom with AOSP rom...that is like comparing NA engine with turbo charged engine... AOSP rom is more basic...thats why it is fast...just give it a try 1st and give your comment... |

Another way is you open a black image (if full black better) and view it at different angles (view it sideways, upwards, downwards, upside down pun boleh |

A few more question from Desire noobie:
1) Anyone has charge the phone from PC using USB cable? How long does it takes? The cable is just a standard USB cable right? Can buy any 3rd party cable and work? If it's fast enough, i can just charge from my laptop in office...no need to buy another charger. 2) Anyone has tried 3rd party batteries for the Desire? Original very expensive.... btw, just used 46MB of data yesterday....syncing exchange, gmail, stocks, news, facebook etc....
