yes, i believe it is becoz some "compatible" issue between the old sense and the HD sense contact database.  I restored my contact from Titanium Backup too.  wow... to lazy to sync to cloud then sync back.  rclxub.gif
I tried... YES!!!!! IT CAN!!!

I click "RING" at HTC Sense.com and my Desire indeed rings!!!!!!!  drool.gif  laugh.gif  thumbup.gif  rclxms.gif

hey just want to share this, its not directly related to Desire, but more to Android laugh.gif
take a look at this home screen app, "Slick UI"
its still under development, but there are preview videos already,
feel like there's plenty of potential in this one.

short intro on how this home screen app comes into development:

Woot! Succesfully flashed ownheredesireHD v1.5  biggrin.gif

Am still wondering why RCMixHD does not work for me  unsure.gif

Anyway, ownheredesireHD v1.5 is smooth and so far no bugs noted.

ownheredesireHD uses data2ext right?

how big is our internal storage now?

everything's working fine?

Hey guys, wanna ask.. I'm on a tight budget and want a good phone and have been aiming this. Is it worth getting an AP for this? Does this phone have many problems?
*
as I've already posted in the recommendation thread,
you should definitely get this phone.
I got it for RM1.9k AP set, and still I feel that its worth every penny spent.
what more for 1.6k? GET IT. NOW.

there isn't any problem with AP set at all, the difference is only warranty.
so don't worry too much about it.

the only known issue with Desire, is the multi touch problem as it only supports 2 point multi touch,
the issue is the same with every set of Desire,
it does not affect daily application, but might affect a little in gaming that requires more than 2 point multi touch

I think u still don hv idea wat is faulty multitouch on desire...hehe..the point is not bcoz of how many points daa...
*
I know, I just wanted to make it easy for people to understand,
no point being so technical about it.

plus as long as it works and does not affect daily usage,
does it really matter if the multitouch is faulty or not?

Yeap not effect with daily usage but not fun like without multitouch faulty... biggrin.gif
*
but the fact is it really does not matter biggrin.gif
If I did not mentioned about the issue, I belief he might not even know about it

the only problems I've seen so far due to the multitouch issue is
not being able to play multiplayer Air Hockey,
secondly is the multitouch benchmark testing,
and.. that's about it.
which is very insignificant.

also, if you didn't know about it, Nexus One has the same issue.

Since you already s-off and on cyanogenmod, actually you can increase your internal memory partition upto 300mb... brows.gif  brows.gif
there is some MDT out there running with something like system memory160mb, cache 10mb, internal memory 300mb
but they say small cache make the phone slower, so i dint try it.... smile.gif

got a question for you guys regarding the recovery...what's the pros/cons of amonra compare to clockwork?currently im using clockwork...would like to try out amonra...
*
not very sure about the pros and cons

but iinm, the obvious difference is that Amonra allow user to partition SD card for more than 512MB while Clockwork max at 512MB

I'm using Amonra, no issue at all, works perfectly fine.

let me share something new that I've discovered yesterday when flashing the latest AuraxTSense 8.14,
when flashing a new ROM, naturally I will cook a new theme from UOT Kitchen
there's this new "windows UI animation" section where it changes the transition animation of windows,
it makes the UI feels fresh again happy.gif which is cool,
here's a video showing one of the animation choices that I'm currently using, "Fly"

there are another 3 choices, "Bounce", "Flip", and "Fold,
I've tried flashing flip and fold animation, but failed to make it work on my phone,
after flashing everything seems fine, except the animation is not showing dry.gif
so I've gave up and stick with fly animation, which is still visually stunning tongue.gif

2) except tis.. wat thgs i oso need to update n install?
3) heard of need to do smthgs like app2SD... how to do it?
4) currently i just have 2GB.. if buy higher thn 8GB memory card will slow down the phone?

i hope all apps or update to my phone will not ruin my warranty~~
thanks alot~~~!!! waiting sifu reply~~~

appreciate!!! ^^"

CONGRATS! rclxms.gif

to check your Android version, go to settings -> About phone -> Software information

app2SD is a built in feature from Froyo (Android 2.2), if you are on 2.2,
then you should have app2SD already
to check if you have app2SD or not,
download Quick System Info.

if you are going for a new memory card, no matter what size you're going for,
make sure you're going for the highest class available,
higher class = higher read/write speed
higher storage memory card wont slow down the phone, but low class card might.
I'm using Kingmax 8GB Class10, pretty satisfied with the performance.

if you don't root your phone, you wont void your warranty, and vice versa.

ok.. thx alot.. i wil check it later.. to see the higher class for the memory card is on the number "10" izit?..
now i hv a stupid Qs to ask... is there any place or lubang to hang the hp accessories? (手机吊饰)  hmm.gif
*
em.. if I get your meaning correctly, yea the class is the number "10",
there are different classes though, 2, 4, 6, etc..

sadly, there isn't any hole for hanging accessories,
except maybe if there's any phone case that has the hole built in,
which I haven't seen any of it. sweat.gif

anyone knws wats wrong v it???

it is sad to take bk n do it.. cos i jus have it~~~  cry.gif

n i check in my setting -> language keyboard -> text settings ->
why mine is in "CN Thai keyboard settings" ? Thai??
how bout urs???

and then stil got "Vietnamese IME settings" <- wat is this again???

sad.gif

Added on December 13, 2010, 11:47 pmi thk my auto-rotate is work... but.. kinda slow.....................
*
if you're really desperate to hang your accessory on your phone,
what you can try is, get a phone case that has holes then you try to can hang your accessory on it,
personally not using any hp accessories, so I can't help much sweat.gif

for charging battery, about 8 hours should be good,
also you might want to calibrate your battery while you're at it,
link on how to do battery calibration here.

If your screen can rotate, then there shouldn't be any problem with it already,
it might be slow because you're not used to the orientation yet?
do note that the default homescreen of Desire won't rotate like what edwinlcw said,
if you want a rotating homescreen, you can try other homescreen, such as LauncherPro, ADW, etc.

the CN Thai keyboard settings, is the settings for the CN Thai keyboard (duh)
same as Vietnamese IME,
CN Thai is for inputing CN and Thai characters,
if you're not using it, you don't have to bother with it.
also, just in case you didn't know about this,
you can switch your input keyboard by long pressing on any text input area (e.g sms space)
then it will prompt a window saying "Input method",
click on it, then you can choose the keyboard that you want to use from there.
btw a small tip when inputting text, you can use the track pad to navigate between letters
just in case when you typed wrongly, instead of pointing at the word, you can use the track pad smile.gif

you mean you could have restored your SMSes earlier if you did restored your dialer storage? sweat.gif

QUOTE(jamieshin @ Dec 14 2010, 12:52 AM)
erm.. wat is CN??

thx for ur tips~ smile.gif

where to do the orientation??

thx for helping me to check out the case name......  rclxms.gif
*
CN is Chinese,

the "orientation" I mean is the "angle" to trigger your screen to start rotating the screen,
so you don't have to do it anywhere, just need to get used to the way your phone behave tongue.gif

for the case, I think its worth it considering the phone isn't cheap in the first place,
plus there are not a lot of cases that allow you to hang your phone accessories laugh.gif

find gallery 3d from market and install it
group your photos using folders,
you can create the folders using astro file manager
then gallery 3d will show your photo album grouped according to the folders smile.gif

beside watching video from the youtube website it self,
there's also an youtube app that you can use to stream youtube videos.

if you want to download youtube video straight from your phone,
you can try tubemate

is anyone know any free app that can set default software control for our phone?
meant we use to set which is my default browser, default music play, etc...
I found 1 but not free... if free app available will be useful for us like to install multiple browser  thumbup.gif , multiple player  cool.gif
*
couldn't you do that already without any kind of app?
especially internet browser, you can set whichever that you want as default when there's a prompt for you, isn't it?
or am I missing something here?

I'm on auraxt 8.1.4, very stable for me, never experience any kind of force close or auto restart so far,
plus I've even flashed custom theme for it too. hmm.gif
