I'm going for a 2nd hand ori HTC Desire...hopefully, can get the deal done by end of today.

Just got the HTC Desire. So far so good. First impression is very good!!

First app installed is Angry birds...wakaka....i need to learn to use the phone first then only pass to wife....haha...

Is there any 3D racing games or any other 3D games for Android? Does Android support 3D games???

Hey, i've set the Scene mode to 'Work', now got 2 clocks in homescreen showing Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur....how do i change one of them to another city??

Thank you. So there is the possibility if i press home, all the apps are still alive. Is that any quick way to check what is running like a task manager or do i need a 3rd party app?

No lar, won't be doing hacked ROM...this phone for wife...must be as easy as possible.......SenseUI+Android is great....IMO, more eye candy than iPhone....hehe...i love disturbing angry birds in the live wallpaper...

Looks like android philosophy is different from a desktop O/S, the Android O/S will kill apps automatically, so this is good i guess.

But i still love to have a touch screen back button instead...scared if press too much back button usage will wears it out.......

Which GPS ur using PAPAGO?? I wanna get a GPS software.... but Papago kinda expensive RM149 is zit?? It's only RM39 on Samsung Bada!!!!

Played some games. Angry bird is fine, i play the iPad version too....other than a bigger screen, essentially same game and pretty responsive. Played Asphalt 5...pretty good 3D graphics, much higher frame rates than the Samsung Omnia 2 which my wife currently use. The Accelerometer also pretty responsive. Pretty good so far. Mobile games basically to kill time.(like today when queing to complain at Maxis centre)...i won't spend too much time gaming on mobile...rather play XBOX and Kinect on my 40" LCD....

Also performed a syncing of contacts from MS OUTLOOK 2010 with backup contacts from my Nokia to this phone, so far ok. But i haven't try syncing calendars or notes yet...

Does the Desire support class 10 memory? Maybe not supported, that's why run in lower speed mode???

Guys, how's the battery of this phone? Seems like drained very quickly....yesterday charged full...WIFI on, 3G on....play some angry birds, browse web...today 10am yellow oready...

btw, where's the place to check the battery %? I saw it previously, but now can't seems to find it again......

I think i need to buy spare batteries....those high powered MUGEN batteries any good?? Any good batteries recommendation (and safe one....i don't want cheap china batteries exploding in my face....).

What is a2sd+?? You can trick Desire into thinking ur external SD card as internal storage???

I got DIGI SmartPlan 68 and Streamyx 4MB at home...so on both lor....hahaha!!! How to do "periodic 3G-ing"?? I need to sync my mails...but now reduce the exchange mails to every 30 minutes instead of 15 minutes.

Gosh, i didn't know the new Desire is SLCD...so is mine AMOLED or SLCD?? How to check? I compared with my wife's Omnia 2 AMOLED....the OMNIA 2 seems to have better and more vivid colors...

btw, just tested video recording last night...720p video is pretty useless...jerky frame rates, blurry pictures...phailed....haven't tried DVD quality video recording yet. I think the Omnia 2 is better in camera and videos....

A few more question from Desire noobie:

1) Anyone has charge the phone from PC using USB cable? How long does it takes? The cable is just a standard USB cable right? Can buy any 3rd party cable and work? If it's fast enough, i can just charge from my laptop in office...no need to buy another charger.

2) Anyone has tried 3rd party batteries for the Desire? Original very expensive....

btw, just used 46MB of data yesterday....syncing exchange, gmail, stocks, news, facebook etc....

Thanks for the answer. In that case, can i just buy any USB wall charger? Does it needs to be specific what voltage etc?? I think i'll just buy a cheap compatible wall charger if it's ok to put in the office.

btw, what is this battery re-calibrating some the guys here keeps talking about? How do you do it??

Yes...it's a GOOGLE phone remember...GOOGLE=INTERNET. No Internet, No Jalan. You must have a data plan if u want to use smart phone like Android, otherwise, wasted, just stick to feature phones.
