for a year or two , yes.

but

a MY double storey house monthly installment may be lower than your SG ROOM rental base on the currency rate for the past few years. If you know you will be here for long term, should consider the investment. Say you buy a MY house and rent SG room while working here, after 20 years the amount of SG rental you gave out is enough to buy another MY house while the other MY still have outstanding loan. Why not use that huge amount of rental money to subsidy a property that you can sell when you leave SG for good?

my installment is about half of the rental of entire unit at current market price. How many % of your salary you use as rental? When you have the money it is hard to resist from buying at least one property in SG.

my malaysian friend with sg pr and married to a singaporean says only children of Singapore citizens can obtain Singaporean citizenship.

[edit] she says at least one parent must be singapore citizen. so i guess © and (d) would qualify.

Malaysian and Singaporean citizenship follow the paternal bloodline. Therefore, a child inherits the citizenship of the father no matter where he is born.

Both Malaysia and Singapore do not recognise the Jus Soli principle or citizenship by birthright (ie. accorded by place of birth regardless of the citizenship of either parent).

that's why I said in earlier post IF I stay in JB and work in SG I prefer EP BUT there will be time when one prefer to have a SG home. You will think differently when you marrried and have kids or when your are older and weaker.

IIRC during my time, to buy a resale HDB from open market I must be married (2 PRs) and household income must not exceed $5000. If I am jobless (so that household income is less than 5k for a few month) then bank may not approve my loan, if my salary too high HDB may ask me to buy condo instead of buying their "subsidised" HDB. The household income cap is now $8000/month. You may think your current salary is too low to buy a HDB, I just want to remind you that you can't buy HDB when your salary is too high. Now, does it make sense to you why so many fresh grad newly wedd SG couple die die must buy HDB before their combined income cross the $8000 mark?

However, buying a house is a big long term commitment for most of us. You have to decide for yourself regardless what others say. Utimately, you are the one who service the installment.

We are lucky to be able buy a house that possible to clear loan within our life time unlike Japan. Will SG become next Tokyo? I don't know, but when possible I want to have a roof over the head for me and my next generation in MY or SG.

yes, u have friend which lives far more luxury lifestyle, but compare to Singapore, i see 10 kids at least 2 having at least psp, iphone, ipad, etc, but in Sarawak, 10 kids, i can hardly spotted one.

In a country which their technology keep improving, comparing to a country which developing in slow pace, so which kid will get influence more? I notice the kid in Singapore rebel towards their parent more than wat i see in Malaysia.

Why dont people realize thats how the phone companies "ketuk" you is with the contract length and monthly telephone fee. If you find a better deal you cant drop your contract without paying some stupid waiver fee.

Getting you to sign the 2 year contract is more important then how much their selling the phone to you.

I don't see how Malaysia is better. In Malaysia, you typically have to pay RM1000-1500 more than Singapore for the newer smartphones. And even though you're not on contract, you still have to pay significant monthly subscription and airtime charges no matter how many times you switch. At the end of the day, the immediate cash savings on hardware is way more than the cumulative DIFFERENTIAL between the monthly charges you have to pay - stretched over 2 years.

In any case, there is NO mobile plan in Malaysia that gives you voice (with free minutes and sms) and 12GB of 3.5G HSDPA data for the RM equivalent of S$38*1.07.

Depends entirely on what "do SAP" means.

If you buy a new phone every 2 years, then it's a win-win hands down. You get a low hardware price and then pay for a mobile plan under contract, but which you would have paid for anyway because you simply need mobile service.

It's people who want a new phone more often than every 2 years... then they either pay early termination penalties on a regular basis or end up having multiple contracted phone lines. These people will find a way to waste money anyway, with or without the existence of mobile plan contracting.

But the some Japanese food here is better than those in KL.
*
But much more expensive.
Lets say u eat SGD50 maybe u get much better quality/nicer jap food compare to RM50-60. But if u willing to pay RM80-100 (which is still cheaper than SGD50), it can b as good as in SG.
So normally I will just keep my cravings until i go bk KL.
Better satisfaction too

yea, cheap labour is to singapore like crack is to a heroin addict.

My fren loves singaporean food, especially their selection of western restaurants which he says taste much better then in malaysia. I find its ok but not that fantastic.

ur statement a bit funny leh.
No employer (any country) would purposely hire expensive and lazy labour from any country, whether they skillful or expenrieces or not.

Not really. For the nice stuff, like wagyu, kurobuta, whitefish, truffle, tuna belly, really good sashimi, Japanese fruit etc., there's really no equivalent in KL.
