hey... i saw a new hotfix by maemo community... MCSP.... anyone tried it??
*
Apparently it just fixes a few minor glitches and packages that were held back in PR1.3

so far, not much changes

the one that looks really good is the CSSU.

THe phone feels so snappy and responsive. only modest seems to show some problems.

But both are still not that stable now.

err...
sori for asking this question..
but, is it air cracking means we can use wifi network that  have password? notworthy.gif
*
no, aircracking is use to test the security of *our own* network..it means we can try to crack the password of *our own* wifi network to see whether *our own* password is strong enough.. brows.gif

... is the official announcement

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=67905

... is the discussion thread.

I've been following it quite closely thanks to the interesting potential it could open up to... imagine, a lot of people are always wondering if or if not nokia will continue sending OTA updates and stuff right?

well... there's actually now a good developer and a few people in the community doing that instead! so, no NO support at all

i downloaded it already... the only thing that irks me is modest not sending attachments and images normally. but emails via text-only is still very plausible... something to do about the formatted text and modest recognising the packages sent or something like that..

wow... good question... tbh, never really thought about it...

when installing it, it prompts you to do a backup. so i guess restoring the back would automatically erase it...

also..

the typicall reflashing

yeah, I read from other forum, it is a one way ticket. To get back to original state, you need to reflash again

Air cracking works with WPA and WPA2 already? I thought only WEP for now?
*
Cracking WPA/WPA2 always been possible with the script & neopwn but as I said <insert here> pages ago,due to the complexity of this encryption even with library method encryption it'll take a long time to decrypt the password.

150 new post since wednesday...Will take some for me to go through all this.

i think this would be good for the n900 users... i dont mind this as long we get the full potential of n900.... there is few things missing but I still like my n900 although sometimes i am so frustrated that the call comes in sometimes it hangs there.....

I have titan's kernel. Tarak kacau langsung... the thing it does kacau is modest+attachments/pictures. sending text emails is a-ok. Also, some HDs are not compatible yet and you'll have to wait for the developers to come up with the new .debs for the modified HDs.... I used to use a modified HD with desaturation and it doesn't work now... unless I pin it or something like that which isn't familiar to me... so I ended opting not to have the modded HD instead because I just like the snappier response of the new community-pr

I definitely agree. we can't expect nokia to do much anymore (hope not) and looks like the developers in the maemo.org are more proactive in taking it to themselves to make maemo 5 better. This shows how much an open-source linux software can interest people in making things happen... simply because it can. It's the ONLY phone that can

Got a feeling Fcam more suitable for special effect photographing, for a quick snap on day to day's work, I think Bless900 or the default camera will be better

thx, but I don't think it is a nice photo, the sky all white yawn.gif
yes, there is a lion dance, but I leave already, too crowded sweat.gif no change to snap the photo, besides they are moving so fast, can't sure what setting for me to snap fast action photo.

for the second photo, it is a sunset behind the cloud, but that time is around 7pm, focusing on the silver lining has made the cars below too dark like night time

hmmm... try restoring it again. your contacts and conversations during the time of the backup will be restored. any new messages or contacts added after that will be gone

tested and proved, taking outdoor quick snap by using default camera or bless900 is the best choice

taking special effect photo would be using Fcam, but normal day to day quick snap, using the default camera will be ideal, I use Fcam too, check my xmas bear and the tomato, but for quick snap we would need a full screen focus. Sure Fcam can do that, but without a stable holding, I don't think I can hold the position without a single shaking.

I installed both Fcam and Bless900 plus the default camera mode, it's like taking 3 cameras cater for all condition flex.gif
