1. supercurio's original voodoo and the 'voodoo' lagfix scheme in speedmod are not the same, I think. So I feel that it's best to disable voodoo5 pre6 first, reboot for the ext4 -> rfs conversion to happen (you know la, the sexy woman's voice) then install speedmod and then consider enabling one of the available lagfix schemes.

2. honestly, I don't really notice a big difference. I stick to 'default' Samsung now, 256Hz.

xda's roms seems all focusing on the kernel and speed. miui's focusing on UI and speed. haha, personally, im deeply, madly, in love with MIUI!

(I've posted too many post abt MIUI, kinda looked/sounded like a spam d -.-)

Voodoo is one of the option in SpeedMod

SpeedMod is using universal lagfix, which give you few options of lagfix, which lncludes voodoo

Friend,

First off, root it. Replace the Gallery with Gallery3DFroyo.apk (rename the file and overwrite the one in /system/app/).
Next, apply Speedmod, then apply lagfix in recovery mode (as the RFS might actually consumes more battery due to the stupid journalling with extra writing).

Come back to us if your battery is still as bad.

Voodoo lagfix patches the kernel as well in order to allow the kernel to support ext4.

Same capacity as stock battery and you run the risk of exploding battery.

Would you want to take the kind of risk?

Hi guys.. i'm new to this forum and new to SGS. Last month i didn't have any problems connecting my SGS to kies, now when i want to upgrade froyo via kies (when i wanna backup my contacts, it says - The device is in use. Stop using the device and try again). Tried restarting kies, my SGS, my computer, still it says the same thing. I even downloaded the latest version of kies. Uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, still no changes. Can someone help me? really wanna get official froyo on my SGS.
