Seemingly already fixed in speedmod K9 releases.. hardcore rebuilt his kernels using latest 0.4pre source from zstupy.

anyone having the same issue?
*
Wired headset as in handsfree kit or music earphones? If I remember correctly, it was already like this in Eclair.

You mean the below questions, right?

QUOTE(Fornx @ Nov 24 2010, 07:55 AM)
have rooted mine using z4root and voodoo-ed. how do i uninstall and disable them totally from my phone if i wanna revert back to the default dxjpa kernel?

for z4root, unroot and uninstall is it? will the superuser folder disappear by then?

what about voodoo pre6?
*
No need to disable root, I think root will disappear upon new firmware flashing. Just disable voodoo, boot one time again to convert back to rfs. Then flash any firmware you like.

Anyone here using Digi plan with SGS? how do u set up 3G? cos my phone can't detect 3G only EDGE??? pls help biggrin.gif

Also how to turn off the lights for the front button when you press it?
*
Yes, I am on Digi Smart Plan with my SGS. Nothing special needed to have 3G - just the steps below:

1. APN should be diginet, not digigprs or digiwap.
2. Under Settings / Wireless and network / Mobile networks make sure Network Mode is 'GSM/WCDMA (auto mode)' - I am on Froyo, can't remember if Eclair's settings were in the same place.
3. Make sure you're in an area with Digi 3G coverage.

Dunno how to disable the lights for the front buttons.

I wonder why Galaxy 5 much more faster than GalaxyS?
*
800x480 (SGS) is 5 times more pixels to drive/display than 320x240 (SG5).

Never played with the Tab before, not sure if anything has been improved by Samsung for that model.

No idea bro, they both seem to come from the same setup, hardware wise and yet the Tab with a higher resolution performs better.
Reports from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=796860

Maybe some tweaks from the Samsung boys were in place?

I am thinking of getting one too, but my love for my SGS is still strong.. tongue.gif
*
SGT and SGS hardware-wise are almost identical, other than form factor, display size and screen resolution. It's possible that the Samsung chaps made some much-needed optimizations when they modified the software (OS, Touchwiz framework etc) to support the higher resolution of the SGT.

Anyway, I am seriously considering keeping my SGS as a phone and getting an SGT to use as an MID. smile.gif

A bit overkill SGS+SGT bro..

They are essentially the same.

But if u consider SGT=upgrade, u have to worry about going to pasar malam with a bulge..
*
True also ya.. SGT too large for the pants pocket though..

Am tempted to give it a go..

Yep, read his short review in one of his previous posts. Was wondering if anyone else is running CM61-20101120a. smile.gif

QUOTE(freakfingers12 @ Nov 26 2010, 03:01 PM)
I was on CM for a few hours. Nice to see whole revamped UI from the usual, eg, 8 recent apps when holding down home button instead of 6, new backgrounds, camera interface a lot like iPhone, but it still needs a lot to work with. I can't use most of my backup apps. Need to start from scratch. I had problems with 720p video recordings and playback. Music goes off when I am in lock screen, at least for me. And some minor bugs, like camera is in B&W but pics taken in colour.

Also, linpack score was around 13+. The CPU score in quadrant was 4k+, I do not know why it's so high, maybe its because there isn't h264 encoding in CM.
*
Did you try 20101120 or 20101120a, bro? 720p video recording and playback is not critical to me as I normally only record 480p videos and play standard def AVI files. You couldn't run backup apps? Why, the ROM wasn't rooted?

Hmm, maybe if I have time this weekend, I'll give it a go. Unless of course a new beta gets released, with more improvements.. biggrin.gif

guys have a question here... speedmod kernek k9a.. does it improve overall phone perfomance or just touchwiz? no idea why my launcherpro scrolling is laggy
*
I'm on speedmod kernel k-9a 256hz and also using launcher pro plus. What is laggy for you? Scrolling up and down in the app list? No problem for me there, I've even enabled 3D drawer.

Hi @kmrdeva, what is your battery performance like on speedmod k9a?
I'm on k9a-256hz, as I mentioned. The thing about battery life is that it depends on many things (network, apps, usage etc). Generally, for me, my phone just makes it thru the whole day for me (8am to 10pm) with about 15% of juice remaining when I get home. Have uninstalled k-9 mail client (big batt sucker) and am considering to remove bloody Tweetdeck too. Still on Launcher Pro Plus, though..

Note : I don't do GPS at all, and neither do I play much of videos or music while I'm outside. Plus, I am not a gamer.

Yea. I agree on K9 email client, I hv uninstalled it as well. As for tweetdeck, it becomes inseparable for me, haha. It is the best twitter client I have ever use.
Btw, I have set tweetdeck to manual sync, saves batt juice alot, only set the Me column and direct msg column to auto-sync every 6 hours.

What is your idle batt consumption? Like if overnight, how much it drop? smile.gif
*
I can live without k9mail, but losing tweetdeck is gonna cause me some pain. Have to tell you, though, tweetdeck's support for foursquare is crappy - half of the time, tweetdeck doesn't find the site name (e.g. Restaurant ABCXYZ) when I search for places near me while the official foursquare client works perfectly every time. If cannot do all protocols with 1 app, maybe 3 separate apps will do.. sad.gif

Still searching for a twitter & facebook client works for me, since I kinda like the official foursquare client app.

I lose about 10%-15% overnight (11pm-8am) if I do not plug in my phone to the charger. Must be because Titanium Backup has its full backup schedule @ 4am, sms backup/restore tool runs @ 5am, and call logs backup/restore tool runs @ 6am, not to mention wifi and 3g are both on at night (i.e. gmail push, gtalk, whatsapp always active).

hi kmrdeva
1. currently i m flash to voodoo 5 pre 6. do i have to totally remove it.. or disable it (create the 'disable lagfix ' folder) will do?
2. the higher the number, the more bat consumption?

thx in advance ya
*
1. supercurio's original voodoo and the 'voodoo' lagfix scheme in speedmod are not the same, I think. So I feel that it's best to disable voodoo5 pre6 first, reboot for the ext4 -> rfs conversion to happen (you know la, the sexy woman's voice) then install speedmod and then consider enabling one of the available lagfix schemes.

2. honestly, I don't really notice a big difference. I stick to 'default' Samsung now, 256Hz.

Axura beta 2 has no video call functionality since it's based on Samsung Vibrant firmware, yes? Other than that, how is the battery life and other functions under this beta 2 rom? I see some feedback in xda-developers that axura beta2 > cyanogenmod 6.1 beta20101120a..
