V8!!  rclxms.gif  congrazt  thumbup.gif

Guys, do you have any idea from doc v7.6.2 to v8.1...samsung apps store gone?...and the boot screen sound gone?...
*
Samsung apps still there for me. Did you factory reset after you flash to 8.0.1?

Boot sound was taken away by Doc

yes, i did factory reset and wipe cache somemore  sad.gif
*
Yes you should factory reset BEFORE flash to to 8.0.1, if you reset after flash, i think you'll lost some apps and also LauncherPro given by Doc.

Just go flash 8.0.1 again

Boys.... BUG Report : Voice on v8.0.1

Jz to informed u guys on the above ROM that i just receive a complaint from my friend that my voice sounded like a blasting bass, ie cant hear properly. I think this had been mentioned in DOC's thread. I came across this comment after flashing the ROM, tried few time didnt hear any complaint until today.

Then i flashed to JPD modem, conducted a trial again to the same friend, comment is, it is slight better, will get blasted bass if talked louder.

Then i flashed to JPP modem, conducted a trial again. Comment: no more distorted / blasted bass effect. But the sound is like i m no speaker phone. Some empty at the background.

I think this is a potential problem with v8. If i still not satisfy with the background / speaker phone like.. i may change back to 7.6.2 with other kernel/tweak/lagfix that apply to v8.

Ken2291:
the problem u posted, regarded to the corrupted system files that apply to Hardcore kernel that come with DOC's ROM. what happen if we flashed to YA-OK kernel then apply no RFS ext4? Would this same result as applying Hardcore K9 kernel?
*
Hmm yea i heard alot ppl are facing this problem as well in Doc's thread.

So far for me calling is working fine, i've made conference call to Sweden and Kuwait also no problem.

At the android system recovery after i apply update.zip , it say's E: signature verification failed. Installation aborted.
*
This is because you're having 3e Recovery.

Easiest way to put it is

ALL STOCK ECLAIR has 2e Recovery

ALL STOCK FROYO has 3e Recovery.

3e Recovery can't flash update.zip while 2e can flash.

So to get 2e recovery on froyo, easiest way is to use custom rom where developer already change the 3e recovery to 2e.

ppl i4 with weaker gpu do better job than my sgs...my fren laughing at me now...y ur sgs sometime lag?not as smooth as mine.. cry.gif  cry.gif
*
Haha your friend cheated you too, ip4 recently only allow third party to play avi format.

Before that, don't dream to run avi file "legally" on ip4.

and they don't play full HD as well. Your N8 can play FULL HD AVI without single lag? I'm surprise and impress then

i have found out that my this problems occured whenever i open an app that would used alot ram/ memory...normally games....after closing the game...the apps in my phone seem to dissapear and reload back...even the home screens dissapear and restart...any idea how to solve this??
*
Did you install any memory management apps, such as autokiller or minfree manager? maybe the value you set is too strict.

This happen when your game needs more ram, it kills other apps to free ram.

Yeaaaahhh rooted and applied oclf bow quadrant results show me 1800 :-D
*
unfortunately OCLF for me is not so a good lagfix. It will start lagging again after few days of usage.

And btw, quadrant score doesn't reflex the reality of smoothness.

But is easy to apply for newbies.

Dude, i prefer to use linpack instead. Find it more reliable compare to quadrant. What do u think?

So glad ur v8.0.1 didnt give u any problem when u make calls.

Oh.. what u think about the link that posted by Ken2291 with regards to ULF file corrupted. what would u actually feel in reality on the phone?
*
Linpack is good but abit unfair for hummingbird, nexus one with Froyo can get 40++ linpack.

About the corruption, i think is possible but the chances are not that high, so far i haven't encounter any.

If you're really afraid of it then is better to not use ULF, anyway all my important data are stored in cloud so no worries.

custom will be very difficult if there aint any base rom to begin with

difficult, not impossible biggrin.gif

if CyanogenMod is a success then porting it wouldn't be a problem.

10 millions of SGS users, must be a few developer willing to do so, or we hope they do smile.gif

Hi all,

Gr8 forum - love it!
Alot of cool and funny people in here =)

HELP ME

Ehm, I have read a whoooole lot of the Doc Froyo barebone ROM thread on XDA, though I must admit I'm no way near the end of the 800 pages...

So I thought I'd take a chance and ask you guys in here, seems a little bit more easier:

How the devil do I install the lovely Doc Froyo barebone ROM to my Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000? (which is the one who is also known as DOC KALPIK V7 ???)

I have read the FAQ in here and in XDA, but still seems to be quite confusing for me with the different versions of it and what you need to do...im lost =( Waaah

I have the standard Froyo stock rom on my phone, I have installed z4root and OCLF along with ROM Manager - ClockWordMod - thats all I've done to it as being the wildest...
My specs are (using the *¤1234¤):

PDA: I9000XWJPA
Phone: I9000XXJPP
CSC: I9000XEEJP4
I have a 32gb sd card installed as well.

So...which version do I install of the Doc Froyo and how????

'Cause I also wanna install this theme for it:
"NEW JPA VERSION WORK ON DOC_KALPIK ROM v7 BY WHISKEYBRO"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770507
I know I have to uninstall OCLF first, right?
Please help me revive my superior love for this gorgeus phone and the world of Android to which I'm fairly new to (4 months).
Thank you all SO SO SO much for your time and help and answer.

Jakob

if you already have CWM(ClockWordMod ), just download the Doc's rom and put it into your internal SD, then go into CWM, flash it

no need to disable OCLF

not yet, not free enough to fix it. and when I'm free, battery oways low sweat.gif might try tonight, if not, wait what will Doc come out for tomorrow smile.gif
hmm, if the stock FM radio can be modified without the need of earphones to listen... drool.gif
*
Its hardware thing, the radio receiver is at your ear piece, almost all phones are like that, except iphone, they don't have tongue.gif

Anyone of u here... any different if backup and restore (data) vian Nandroid and mybackup pro?

I notice if backup and restrore with nandroid if faster. Buy Mybackup pro or titanium is a bit slow.
*
Nandroid is the whole rom, so lets say you backup v8, then you flash v9, then you restore, you will go back to v8

This is what i understand for Nandroid during hero's days
