Hurmm.. I also think that they have capped my speed to international links. Got much higher ping for London, New york and Seoul server.... For Jakarta, Ping seems a bit lower, but speed was so slow..... BTW, I'm using 2Mbps...

been having this problem for the last few days. at first i thought it was my router playing havoc after i updated the firmware, but after reading the thread here am convinced that my bandwidth has been capped as well.

downloading from fileserve/hotfile etc used to be around 150kbps or so (i have a 1mbps line) but as you can see below, it looks like it has been capped.

really TMNET, what kind of f***ery are you playing here?!

so that explains crappy download speed over http ftp & even over vpn eh

seems like they are capping speed during daytime / peak hours - most probably some smart ass within tm came up with this idea?

now need to find a way around to solve this issue again!

Can we start a petition among all of us who r being capped and send it to MCMC????

I am being capped since sep 2010. Latency is high as well as packet loss with higher ping.

I can confirm that this is the issue that we are having now.Usually the speed will be back at around 2am till about 12pm or so and then slowing down hourly. It gradually increases over the hour with certain speed limits which you can't bypass at all.Been using usenet.

Ipoh 4Mbps user had face the problem from 2 month already back from Sep 2010. It usually extremely slow after 8pm. I never download big files now day just wanted to have some present surfing web but yet I still got cap till less then 512kbps some time it get lower then 300kbps. It's doesn't need to be a international connection even local was extremely slow. And ping is over 200ms which I doesn't understand will capping my line will increase latency also. Now not even surfing web slow but playing online games which use rather little bandwidth also been extreme lag.

I actually servicing (technical) a cyber cafe here at Ipoh where it register a 4Mbps In-A-Box SOHO packages for RM 264 per month (roughly RM 264 cause I can't remember too well). That 4Mbps line was connecting with IP address 115.133.xxx.xxx and not the 175 / 218. It never face this slow connection issue. And that 4Mbps SOHO actually downloading heavily because of a lot of users (customers).

And when you complain about this they will fob you off with 'Best Effort' / 'FAQ' / 'FUP' / Network Congestion / and if your lucky enough to get a report number a never-ending 'we are still in the midst of investigation by our Technical Department' reply.

From Kuching. I can confirm this also happens to me since 3 weeks ago, i.e. usually 7-8pm my 1.5Mbps line will be capped at 512Kbps, then back to normal after midnight. While I wouldn't mind if the hard cap was applied only to P2P, but it wasn't fair to all users if this was applied to all protocols.
