Well, I will choose ST2420L. You won't notice the color differences when playing games. Unless you are into photo editing then a better screen matters. Save yourself some money and you could connect the PS3 easily.

It's regardless from which supplier or vendor. Dell/HP/IBM, whatever it is, for 1-to-1 exchange, they will never give you a new unit.

That's the dilemma I'm facing now...for a better view, or convenience purpose.

How do you know it is a refurbished or new unit, mind to tell.

Because last time I claimed the warranty time with Dell, the person handled did tell me, they will send a new unit instead of refurbished one, now still using.
And when I opened the box, it is as same as the new one (the first one), no different at all.

Also what is wrong with refurbished, if the replacement is as good as the new, and people has little way to know it is a refurbished.

Willing to stuck with a new faulty lcd instead of refurbished that working perfectly?

For other without 1 to 1 exchange policy, you send in the faulty unit, wait for few weeks or month before coming back, and they won't replace with a new one either. It just means faulty component being replaced, so it is as same as refurbished. tongue.gif

I don't see any issue on the refurbished, as long as the refurbished one is working flawless and all condition is as good as new one.

you using native resolution or not?

23" at 1920x1080 = 96 dpi should be quite nice with cleartype one.

LED backlight monitor is whiter than CCFL, i think manufacturer's decision to turn the lights up and make the color more 'vibrant'.

you want color closer to 'real' color need to buy calibration equipment already or you can tune the RGB yourself or google for ICC profiles online.

Hey guys, I'm planning on getting a monitor for my MBA. I don't think it supports HDMI. I purchased the Mini DisplayPort to DVI cable from Apple. So any recommendations for DVI monitors? Huge but not too expensive?

State your budget and we can give you recommendation, "not too expensive" can't work here since anyone's "expensive" is different.

Yeah darn cheap for IPS panel. But then if you have to compare that U2311H(IPS,23") versus ST2024L (LED, 24"), which one will you go? Both at almost the same price range..... rclxub.gif

Dell is selling the U2311H for RM639 at the moment. Is that a decent deal? I'm shopping for a 23-24" monitor with either a 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 resolution.
