hi guys..

other than energy saving,i was wondering if LED lcd have better performance than normal lcd..
can LED lcd could give better image quality?

can somebody tell me which is better to buy?tq

For me, I would spend the extra money that spent on LED lcd, to a better panel like IPS/PVA.

Put side by side.
IPS/PVA can show difference vs TN (or so called normal one)

Put side by side
a normal LED backlight LCD vs a normal non-LED backlight, most won't notice the difference.

Where got below 1K? for U24

It was always >1500 ~ 1700, even during promotion time, if not mistaken.

Dell warranty is one for one exchange.

They send you the replacement lcd then take back the old one.
You won't without lcd in between.

Ya, me last time also like that, as a proof/claim.

Email them the photo, they replied, and sent the new LCD and took back the faulty old one.

Guys, need to know whether you guys connect your monitor using DVI or HDMI cable, secondly which is better DVI or HDMI.
*
Most LCD do not have good built-in audio or not all LCD have built-in audio, so HDMI is not something priority to have, as most people have separate speaker.

I know a lot of marketing gimmick said HDMI got good quality, the actual fact HDMI = DVI + audio

So picture quality wise HDMI = DVI

It's regardless from which supplier or vendor. Dell/HP/IBM, whatever it is, for 1-to-1 exchange, they will never give you a new unit.

That's the dilemma I'm facing now...for a better view, or convenience purpose.
*
How do you know it is a refurbished or new unit, mind to tell.

Because last time I claimed the warranty time with Dell, the person handled did tell me, they will send a new unit instead of refurbished one, now still using.
And when I opened the box, it is as same as the new one (the first one), no different at all.

Also what is wrong with refurbished, if the replacement is as good as the new, and people has little way to know it is a refurbished.

Willing to stuck with a new faulty lcd instead of refurbished that working perfectly?

For other without 1 to 1 exchange policy, you send in the faulty unit, wait for few weeks or month before coming back, and they won't replace with a new one either. It just means faulty component being replaced, so it is as same as refurbished. tongue.gif

I don't see any issue on the refurbished, as long as the refurbished one is working flawless and all condition is as good as new one.

I guess it come down to either wait a bit longer or get it now with that cut throat price. hmm.gif  Till this year, LED monitor till 24". Maybe early next year, 27" LED will coming.

LED is much more better than CCFL. And over a few yrs, CCFL will getting dim and the light uneven over whole monitor. LED have more vibrant color and better white. And won't dim over yrs.

CCFL is almost at the edge age tech and replacing by LED. So buying LED now will not get outdate in few yrs coming.

I have 2 laptop which 1 is LED LCD. For 4yrs, the LED laptop still look good and no show of aging. While CCFL laptop getting dim and color not as good as LED LCD.

So time tell me that LED LCD is better. But not the price. sad.gif

Until LED cost is going down near to CCFL, CCFL won't diminish so soon, although it is expected to phase out, just it may take longer than most people expected.

After all, price is one of most influential factor that dictate a product sales.
