QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Dec 29 2010, 12:42 AM) Thank bro. But that monitor still using CCFL backlight. I m looking LED backlight for 27" or above.Added on December 29, 2010, 1:25 pm QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Dec 29 2010, 08:05 AM) FYI That Dell 27" is still a CCFL backlighted LCD monitor. Don't no apple have 27" LED LCD. Is it compactible with PC? Unless you have some $$ to invest, can try Apple 27" LED IPS monitor, it'll burn a hole in my leg tho (burn through wallet). The price RM3999 This post has been edited by ozak: Dec 29 2010, 01:25 PM |

QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Dec 29 2010, 05:05 PM) Yeah it's compatible with PC as long as you can find the converter, plus with that price tag, you're paying for its design and brand name, not as much features as the Dell offering and that's Apple I guess it come down to either wait a bit longer or get it now with that cut throat price. Anyway I haven known any LED backlighted 27" as yet, but CCFL is not bad at all nowadays, even the CCFL IPS U2311H consume only 30W+ after lower down the brightness to comfortable level, much close to LED backlight as well. If you insist on LED backlight, maybe you can to look at TV? Plenty >32" 1080p already has LED backlight and close to the price of Dell 27" IPS offering or slightly higher if you can afford LED is much more better than CCFL. And over a few yrs, CCFL will getting dim and the light uneven over whole monitor. LED have more vibrant color and better white. And won't dim over yrs. CCFL is almost at the edge age tech and replacing by LED. So buying LED now will not get outdate in few yrs coming. I have 2 laptop which 1 is LED LCD. For 4yrs, the LED laptop still look good and no show of aging. While CCFL laptop getting dim and color not as good as LED LCD. So time tell me that LED LCD is better. But not the price. |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Dec 29 2010, 11:31 PM) Until LED cost is going down near to CCFL, CCFL won't diminish so soon, although it is expected to phase out, just it may take longer than most people expected. Sometime I wonder are this component really that expensive. Is the manufacturing try to cashing in on the new product? Cause it is the only way to make big profit before everybody jumping in. After all, price is one of most influential factor that dictate a product sales. LED LCD is not really new. It been 4yrs in the market and sony is the first to introduce LED LCD in their laptop. Well, maybe we here catchng slow probaly. Because of the price and spending power. LED LCD have less component and less wattage to generate light compare CCFL. It has thinner LCD too. My Laptop LED LCD only 4mm thick. |

QUOTE(Vigilant @ Jun 2 2011, 11:08 AM) Samsung recently roll out newer LED models which cover the range up to 27". Can check garage sales for Samsung LED or the offical website. Thanks. But the samsung resolution till 1920x1080. And most of the others brand. Accept Dell and apple. Dell only have normal type not back LED. While apple is perfect spec but super expensive. |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Jun 2 2011, 12:15 PM) Dell will refresh their Ultrasharp line in Q3 iinm so you can wait for taht. But i'm curios, why you don't want CCFL?They give a wider color gamut thus if your software supports it then it will be better. LED have a better vibrant color, wider gamut and last longer in the brightness. Compare CCFL which will uneven brightness, less vibrant and getting darken when age come. The Samsung uses normal TN panel while the Ultrasharp and ACD uses H-IPS panel with a much higher resolution ,they cost much more. I have both LCD to compare from my laptop and have been using it for many yrs. I can see the different when age come. Even my dell LCD is the best spec when I brought that time, it still can't beat the LED LCD when aging come. My another LED lcd laptop still look great. Added on June 2, 2011, 12:36 pm QUOTE(Vigilant @ Jun 2 2011, 11:56 AM) Yeah high end models much more expensive only certain manufacturer have it such as Dell or Apple If you have use LED lcd before, you won't go back to ccfl type. At the moment, it still cost a bomb. But it will drop fast when in the market getting more. Hopefully this yrs can see it drop fast. This post has been edited by ozak: Jun 2 2011, 12:36 PM |
