bcoz i want to connect the ps3 to the monitor as the ps3 only have hdmi. ps3>hdmi cable>hdmi to displayport converter>monitor.or i am wrong?haha.can someone suggest the right way to do it.one cable to ps3 and one more to desktop.

now Dell U2311H is offer at a good price, but too bad it does not have HDMI port...

I would like to connect my ps3 to U2311H with hdmi...if i use the hdmi-to-dvi converter, what would i lost? picture quality?
whereby Dell also offer Dell ST2420L with an attracting price and it come with hdmi port.

i want to use DVI for my desktop i'm poor person cannot buy monitor for each desktop and ps3...just can share it.
as i knew there is no any loss in pic quality.buy u2311h la.haha.

1-The u2311h uses eIPS which is cheaper to make.
2-Yields for the H-IPS panel in the u2711 is lower since it's large and has a much higher resolution which makes it more difficult to make.Lower yield=higher price

You'll need an active DVI to DP converter,cheaper Passive converters will not work.

Anyway,IIRC Dell have parts for EOL models for years so you shouldn't have to worry too much if your U2410 breaks down,can't remember where i read that though.

However if they do this and lower the U2711's price to the U2410's level then that would be awesome.
The newer models are months away,if you need one now then there's no harm buying it now.Personally i'd get a U2311H now if i were you,not too fond of the blueish tint W-LED gives compared to CCFL.

back experience for U2410

1st day receive,  found 1 dead pixel (red) on center

replace 2nd unit , also found out 1 dead pixel (*black) center right

now wait for 3rd replacement 
*technical told me policy need 6 dead pixel only can claim .. what the ..#%@#%
