Aside from the ugly stupid frame bezel, otherwise could be same as other E-IPS panel.
And no DVI... sux yawn.gif

Dell U2311H has 8ms and it's considered as good, but some hardcore FPS gaming might find it slightly blurry, otherwise it's good for casual to normal gaming.
If you're serious gamer, you should look for 120Hz panel instead, such as the Alienware 3D monitor which capable of 120Hz if not using the 3D mode, should prove enough for fast pace gaming.
Other than that, TV that has 100Hz or 120Hz panel is very good as well, but they're priced rather steep for some TV includes more features and using high-end IPS panel.
Someone here should use a software to review the input lag and the panel responsiveness, should bring some light to those who haven bought it yet.  brows.gif Some like me... *ahem* whistling.gif

Add: Google "PixPerAn".

No this is not recommended for high-end graphic requirement. You gotta spend on Alienware Monitors or Samsung SA Series which cost RM1300 and above.

I believe he was asking for Gaming (fast FPS/racing and such) ...  where speed is more essential than colour accuracy/depth/contrast/even shades...

good quality TN panels (and cheaper monitors) rather than U2412M

Actually I have a friend who want to buy u2412m cause I recommend that LCD to him, however, the 8ms response time is worrying him for ghosting issues. So that's why I ended up asking here

So I guess I introduce other monitor to him then. Thanks all!

Hi Guys,

I know this is a lil slow for me since i got my Dell U2412m bout a week ago..well.. Just wanna share some unboxing pictures and my thought on this monitor so far.smile.gif

Well..I received the package last Friday (19/8/2011) and it arrived in 2 boxes...1 is the LCD panel itself and the other is the power cord.

user posted image

As you can see, the small box packs the power cord

user posted image

and just to make sure that i got the right box.. tongue.gif

user posted image

I opened up the box and was quite pleased at how the packaging was as the foam was thick and protected the panel well during transportation. Thumbs up for Dell.. flex.gif

user posted image

And i must say...the panel is really huge...look how big it is compared to my Apple wireless keyboard sweat.gif

user posted image

Unboxing the stand was pretty good and boy was the stand solid..I myself am surprised at how sturdy it was...The best part is that you can swivel at almost any direction thumbup.gif

user posted image

not to mention the idiot accessory that you gotta get when you have a macbook pro sweat.gif at rm99 it ain't cheap man... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Putting my LCD on the table and sorting out the cable mess.. blush.gif

And finally (after weeks later) its finally complated!!

Probably video only unless you have the sound bar... but is there one yet for the 2412M?

U2412M is on par with U2311H while cannot compare to U2410 as U2410 is on another level of panel.

It's better than the U2311H because the U2412M has more pixel and it's LED!

Watched couple of 1080p movies on the U2412M, pretty good or at least I'm satisfied la smile.gif. I don't have a higher range LCD to compare to anyways.

Movie will definitely benefit from the smoother gradient due to better colors output and dark area will appear better.
Gaming wise will see what you're looking for, if color wise then of course it's better than most TN, but hardcore FPS gamer will find the panel response is slightly blurry.

Yup no audio output from U2412M!

The irony is there is a 12v output for the sound bar but where to get the connecting cable? hmm.gif
