QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Aug 1 2011, 11:00 PM) If you current game only able to play at 50FPS, 3D vision will cut that in half, meaning you get almost unplayable frame rate, and with extra processing power to process the 3D vision, you get even lower frame rate, so if you're taking 3D vision seriously, think SLi, think hard and SPEND HARD you miss one thing. i fix it for you! btw, from what my knowledge, 3D doesn't mean cut FPS in halves, but i don't have any experience, while i saw some advertisement they say only 5% FPS lost for 3D feature? i can't confirm thou This post has been edited by Cyclonechuah: Aug 2 2011, 09:03 PM

So in order to process that extra frames and 3D processing, that's definitely going to cut down at least by half. One frame for left eye, and another for the right eye, and make it "looks" like 3D. I might be wrong about my theory but have a look at this benchmark. http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?opti...=1&limitstart=5And some explanation why it's halved http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=17243224Going a bit off topic but still hanging around this thread waiting for the anticipating.... QUOTE(CBTautoparts @ Aug 3 2011, 02:21 AM) Which brand of LCD monitor is better? Samsung? i plan to change my old 5:4 to 16:9 Samsung was old story, already become history, now it's the same for almost all the brand out there on the market, most value so far is Dell due to its warranty and services but you can't go with COD, mostly online purchase. LG is now not bad of a deal since the build quality of Samsung is dropped and price are still remain higher than competitor. Also some are recommending AOC? They're pretty good, so far.

QUOTE(H4XF4XTOR @ Aug 5 2011, 09:51 AM) Does monitor effect the gaming graphix? if so what is the best LCD monitor for gaming?can some1 shed light on this Wow, how many times had I seen this question asked. It'll depends on your taste and budget, for me I would recommend U2311H for now and wait for U2412M if you can. If you looking for gaming performance (your eye is like super eagle or sort of) then get those TN panel which has better response time (marketing BS!) but of course color and viewing angle can't compare to U2311H. p/s: Still waiting for U2412M review... Great job for the comparison, TN vs IPS, lol. Aside from that, color on the Acer is slightly better (Toy Story wallpaper) or is it contrast/brightness too high?

But need to thanks his effort of putting them up, way to go!

The difference should be more noticeable if only the pictures were taken in dark

Thanks for the photo comparisons FaezFarhan. The difference becomes most apparent in the viewing angle. Yeah, why don't you just keep both. Use them for different purposes.

Only issue is afraid of defective unit as Dell only have postage . How does the warranty for ultrasharp works? I read for the 23" IPS one, it seems kinda bad as in one person had dead pixel but not covered under warranty?

I think within 14 days there's 1-on-1 exchange so for even 1 dead pixels its counted, but I haven seen any report on that so far. Please correct me on this.

Q What pixel defects are covered? A Dell’s Premium Panel Guarantee applies to UltraSharp, Professional and Alienware monitors with bright pixel defects only. The Premium Panel Guarantee does not cover monitors with dark/ black type of dead pixels. Found this on Dell's website... oh great

I have asked before for dead pixels coverage, it's 6 total to get 1-on-1 exchange. if you have 5 dead pixels and 1 bright pixel then you're eligible, and even 1 bright pixel only is eligible.
