QUOTE(Fawkes @ Apr 14 2011, 09:27 PM) If you use HDMI to DP converter, do you still get audio and video? Btw, my old HP w2207h LCD is able to receive sound input from DVI(from GC) to DVI>HDMI Converter > LCD. is this true? ive never tried it, but technically, it sounds impossible! correct me if im wrong, both ends need to be equipped with HDMI interface because DVI doesnt allow audio transfer! IPS236v http://www.lg.com/hk/it-product/monitor/LG-IPS236V.jspNo Display port. Dvi cable not included. Has audio out port. Typical power consumption 36W. Dell U2311h http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...en&sku=320-9270U2311h brightness is more than adequate already, has better stand, display port, DVI is the same as hdmi, straight out of box no need much calibration, has 4 port usb hub, DVI cable included. Power consumption 33W. Yeah U2311h still the winner.

Reading texts on non matte LCDs are preferable imo. BTW,at 15% savings the PLS will still be more expensive than eIPS,looking forward to see how it performs.

For those who still can't make decision between LG ips236v and Dell U2311H. Maybe some comparison below should clear out your reason on either monitor.
Dell U2311H Pro - Adjustable stands (do I need to list out how they can perform?) - Better calibrated colors out of box (according to some discussion here) - 4 USB ports (I find it to be very convenient - Includes DVI and VGA (attached) cables - Dell Service (that's goat darn reason) - Up to 5-years Premium Panel Advanced Exchange warranty (got bright pixel? they send you another for 1-on-1 exchange) Con - RM609 (slightly much expensive) - Lack of HDMI (probably for consoles/players) - Dull looking design (hey.. hey.. some just don't like this ya know) - Rather heavy (due to the stands) - No on-shelve display (you can't compare, and some just picky)
LG IPS236V Pro - RM575 - Great looking design (almost like Samsung piano finishes) - HDMI (for the consoles/players goodies) - WLED (not sure if this should be here... LOL) - Audio out (if you use HDMI I guess) - Light-weight (< 4KG) Con - Uncalibrated colors - Non-adjustable stands (only Tilt??) - DVI cables optional (buy 1 for RM10~3x, opps!) - Warranty (no door2door service yes?)
Correct me if any statements is wrong.

Usually all LCD nowadays covers up to 3-years warranty, only Dell has extra 2-years, and that's Dell for you.
