is this true? ive never tried it, but technically, it sounds impossible! correct me if im wrong, both ends need to be equipped with HDMI interface because DVI doesnt allow audio transfer!

the lg ips236v are just like tn panel with wide angle view

Wow. If the price is really RM575 only for IPS236v it probably a better buy than U2311h. Has hdmi and LED backlight.

wow rm575 is really a quite attracting price and the price is much same as the u2311h which is rm609 now . How will this LG IPS236V do if compared with the u2311h ?

for colour accuracy, ccfl > edge led
only led win at power consumption, plus u2311h are already too bright (at 0% brightness)
for future, displayport > hdmi
0i choose 8 bit panel over 6bit+ditthering panel
just know that u2311h are also 6bit+ditthering panel thats the reason why u2311h is so cheap but i already use it, so just enjoy
the old Dell 2209WA are true 8bit panel

even when using dithering,colour gradients are minimal aint it?The sRGB colour gamut is also 100% covered .
Looks like there's a solid U2311H competitor already

U2311h brightness is more than adequate already, has better stand, display port, DVI is the same as hdmi, straight out of box no need much calibration, has 4 port usb hub, DVI cable included. Power consumption 33W. Yeah U2311h still the winner.

but too bad both monitor are not pre-calibrate,so you have to calibrate it with professional calibrator to get near those value
its actually 96.6% for u2311h panel, 72% for ntsc, for lg ips monitor, i guess its little lower (thanks to wled)
but samsung saying that their new pls display are true 10bit panel

but for me, colour that sync with printer are not fun to watch, not so vibrant

pls display are only a replacement for their va panel, guess we can see affordable big pls on a few year..
samsung also mention that their pls screen are inferior than their super amoled

actually samsung mention that their 24" pls panel in may 2011, its 8bit panel plus ditthering
it will be 15% cheaper than competing ips with nearly the same colour production (maybe s-ips)

I can control the lighting around my PC so that there will be no light source directly in front of the LCD so reflections aren't a problem.
Reading texts on non matte LCDs are preferable imo.
BTW,at 15% savings the PLS will still be more expensive than eIPS,looking forward to see how it performs.

Usually all LCD nowadays covers up to 3-years warranty, only Dell has extra 2-years, and that's Dell for you.
