Looked a bit too huge and distracting, went with something simple this time tongue.gif. Might improve on the previous one and reuse xD.

hey guys.. wanna ask which one is the best brand for camera lenses filter and the worst brand ever??..

HOYA??... KENKO??

Buy B+w to pair with your awesome lens thumbup.gif
16 layers of coating(dual side) for XS-PRO compared to 8 layers(single side) for Hoya HD. You decide tongue.gif

I have both of them, but I prefer Hoya HD somehow. 2 HD and 1 XS-Pro.

I dunno bout B+W, but the Hoya HD is worth every single cent I paid, hahaa.... so easy to clean n tough(don need to always place the lens cap while walking around), when placed alongside with normal hoya UV filter on the table, the HD filter looks like only black frame without glass( coz of much better light transmission thru da glass).

It does, compare the B+W XS-Pro with those cheaper filters. Effect would be obvious when there's stray light causing flare into your photo.

Agreed! I like the HD because it is much easier to clean than B+W. IQ wise, at least I don't notice the differences in terms of flare and all.

No, UV filter nowadays is more for protection. But using a crappy filter will give you issues with flare as compared to using better filters that will not give you as much issue with flare.

im using B+W uv haze filter 67MRC... for the first time i think it is expensive and not worth to spend on it...but then when i compare with hoya filter...definitely makes a lot of difference in terms of light reflection and absorption... that is my opinion on accessories..."since u kill a cow, why not spend a little more on spices"... so i ended up spending over my budget on accessories lol =P

85mm doing ok ok I guess. Need to shoot more with it. So far not exactly happy, AF performance wasn't what I expected on D90. It was ok on other D3 and D700 I tested though.

UV filters are used to protect the front element of a lens. But the quality of the filter can affect the image quality.
as most sifus will tell you, if u intend on using cheap filters, might as well go naked...

Sorry to interrupt the filter discussion... Just realized Nikon offered D3s + 24 1.4 + 24-70 2.8 as grand prize for NPCI 2010... Not like I stand any chance to win any but I look up all the page but can't get the entry form/entry page.

Anyone can find it?

Woah so easy to be found? I was finding so hard... thanks!

Ermm... I can't even think of any of my photos worth entering the contest. Mostly noob scenery photos. Just enter as is, to join the fun lol.

Who knows the judge has a different point of view than me and thinks this photo is nice haha
