2- Regarding shashinki.com's product with (import) behind the model name
"Means it is not local unit by Futuromic. Parallel import in, if got problem you need to send back to your seller."
Then why "import" model cheaper?

Does D3100 video mode support manual focus?

Thanks icon_idea.gif
*
Means not local unit, parallel import. Futoromic won't be responsible if anything goes wrong with it. Grey set lo.

And D3100 can do manual focusing during video.

Woah new thread already. Dark lord all combined  thumbup.gif

Btw just wanna ask, to achieve long shutter speed, what do we need? CPL right? Is that the main function of CPL? Which one is the darkest? hmm.gif
*
Neutral Density (ND), 9 or 10 stop light gone for those waterfall shots.

err..to achieve long shutter speed just set to bulb mode la..

lol..

but to achieve long shutter speed without over exposing..can use a neutral density filter.. CPL does other things. although it cuts light a bit as well.
*
CPL cuts about 1 stop of light only as compared to ND filter (bout 9 or 10).

*
Its called ND filter, or Neutral Density filter.

QUOTE(elainor @ Nov 18 2010, 12:08 AM)
thanks for all the suggestion...now comes the main problem...how to create one hehe?? i mean is there any particular software to design it?
*
It depends on your creativity ;-) No specific software for watermark.

I see. Thanks. I thought there's specific names like ND4, ND8 and etc lol.

Ohh btw bro I like your last watermark. CY smile.gif
*
Looked a bit too huge and distracting, went with something simple this time tongue.gif. Might improve on the previous one and reuse xD.

Buy B+w to pair with your awesome lens thumbup.gif
16 layers of coating(dual side) for XS-PRO compared to 8 layers(single side) for Hoya HD. You decide tongue.gif
*
I have both of them, but I prefer Hoya HD somehow. 2 HD and 1 XS-Pro.

QUOTE(jyhy @ Nov 18 2010, 12:43 AM)
but then these days filter doesn't give much impact right?
*
It does, compare the B+W XS-Pro with those cheaper filters. Effect would be obvious when there's stray light causing flare into your photo.

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Nov 18 2010, 12:44 AM)
I dunno bout B+W, but the Hoya HD is worth every single cent I paid, hahaa.... so easy to clean n tough(don need to always place the lens cap while walking around), when placed alongside with normal hoya UV filter on the table, the HD filter looks like only black frame without glass( coz of much better light transmission thru da glass).
*
Agreed! I like the HD because it is much easier to clean than B+W. IQ wise, at least I don't notice the differences in terms of flare and all.

basically means filter is used to reduce flare?
*
No, UV filter nowadays is more for protection. But using a crappy filter will give you issues with flare as compared to using better filters that will not give you as much issue with flare.

im using B+W uv haze filter 67MRC... for the first time i think it is expensive and not worth to spend on it...but then when i compare with hoya filter...definitely makes a lot of difference in terms of light reflection and absorption... that is my opinion on accessories..."since u kill a cow, why not spend a little more on spices"... so i ended up spending over my budget on accessories lol =P
*
Which Hoya were you comparing it against?

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Nov 18 2010, 12:52 AM)
LOL but it's nice. Maybe I'll copy a bit and do FF muahaha brows.gif

How's the 85 1.4 doing? Happy so far? smile.gif
*
85mm doing ok ok I guess. Need to shoot more with it. So far not exactly happy, AF performance wasn't what I expected on D90. It was ok on other D3 and D700 I tested though.

UV filters are used to protect the front element of a lens. But the quality of the filter can affect the image quality.
as most sifus will tell you, if u intend on using cheap filters, might as well go naked...
*
Correct. if you're using cheapo filter on the good glass then there's no point.

QUOTE(elainor @ Nov 18 2010, 01:00 AM)
@celciuz: sorry mate i forget which model...i just remembered the price range was around rm60-70 while the B+W was around rm220-250...
*
Yeah, those are just single coat filter as compared to your RM220-250 B+W which are multi coated. Not exactly a fair comparison.

Yes. Better and most shop don't carry D3000 anymore as D3100 price is the old price of D3000.
*
Totally agree, the D3100 is superior to D3000 in terms of sensor technology.

D3100 seems to be the best entry level at the moment, compared to 1000D (old body) and 550D perhaps.

D3100's ISO performance is better than D3000, sensitivity up to 3200 and uses CMOS sensor while D3000 supports up to 1600 and uses CCD sensor  wink.gif
*
I think the sensor is better than all existing Nikon DX sensor minus the new D7000.
