This is Malaysia always grant monopoly to one provider ! as I hv said Astro will rule Malaysia, watch closely first bowling now ML next ? RTM can b... b... and concentrate on how to potray Malaysia to the international world and make them believe as though such things exsists here !

No provider shld be given exclusive rights the FTA TV stations must carry whatever games through sponsorship for the poor,ASTRO shld be stripped off from these rights.

Actually, no one can really blame Astro for getting the rights for Malaysian Super League football. They had the highest bid, they had the best package that FAM were looking for and ultimately they have the resources..
Picture this, Astro have the resources and potential to show at least 8 Malaysian Football matches a week..From the top league which is the Super League right until the lower leagues and even youth competitions..they also offered to provide a highlights programme with repeats available for viewers..
compare that to what RTM was offering..at least one match in a week..even that one match could be canceled if RTM decide to show any event launching like Bulan Citrawarna or Rumah Terbuka Aidilfitri..and I remember RTM had their highlights programme at 12.30 AM in the morning..how do you promote local football to kids if you put it at a time slot more suitable for romance or horror movies or thriller..they just did not have the resources..
To prevent a monopoly here, its FAM that should prevent it..not astro..they should have divided how many matches could be shown on RTM and Astro..in the end, money talks, and astro's money will go a long way to atleast keep Malaysian football alive and running..
anyways..no need to fear..RTM still have rights for the Malaysian Super League as they hold the rights for FTA broadcaster..Astro getting the rights should be used as a wake up call to RTM to improve their broadcast and presentation of local football which I can say they have taken granted for a long time as they were no competitors..
