Just asking, did you install the Window 7 Service Pack 1 update? It's known to introduce some BSODs according to online sources.

Yeah, the results tend to very on one PC to another. Some didn't experience problems at all, others start getting BSODs like one of my friends did.

I'm holding off the update until I see a stable version released, hopefully this May or June.

Dear razorboy,
I'm all ready to submit your problem to MSI Taiwan. But before that, i really need you to test it with the new BIOS. If not, they will ask you to do the similar thing. So if you test with new BIOS, it will shorten the process. Really sorry for your problem here.

Unfortunate to hear about your gt680r.Hope you can get it fix really soon and maybe discuss your process of fixing it in case anyone of us gets the same error in the future sweat.gif

Hi,

According to my source from MSi, it is going to be late Sept/early Oct. In the meantime MSi is going to 'replace' GT680R with GT683R (nV GTX560M).

Regards,

Brozini
Oh my...guess the GT680R machines were just a "kambing korban" test machine to tryout what are the customer's review and attractions on it?As always, just replacing the gfx card with the nvidia 5series and satisfy the customers with it.Not really sure whats going on with the marketing skills nowadays, same goes for the production of phones as well when they just replace and introduce a new single thing from an old product to a new product just like that. Its like an incomplete system featured of bits and pieces which slowly combines into a crap.

Im not really sure about the production of GT683R as I did not do any research on it except to checkout the forums.

At long last, the MSI GT680R is at my doorstep!! =D

Doing benchmarking with FF14 and Stone Giant wink.gif

Compared to ASUS, MSI tends to have less bloatware, great! XD

Ya, means less work for me XD

Ok ok, I wun then XD

This laptop sounds great, love the sound!

Design wise, it looks spectacular too, I tot it would look to grodgy, but it isnt =)

My lil bro wil b hapi wif tis, haha..

Can't wait to try Crysis 2 on this!

Added on April 11, 2011, 8:56 pmI felt something odd...

Why when I restart having my external harddisk attached to it, it will end up with a black screen?

I can't access Windows at all.. Until I removed my HDD from the lappy,I restart it and it went back to normal..

Something to do with the adjustments in the BIOS?

Dear lonelywolf90,
Try to set the 1st Boot Priority to your HDD. And if there's an option "Booting Other Devices", disable it. Maybe it helps.

glad to hear it..the sound is the mst amazing laptop sound u ever heard right? tongue.gif..haha..do pst ur benchmakrs here shows u bro tongue.gif

anyway, regarding that..it is normal..because while booting..it will end up reading what is inside ur external hard disk as well..thus causing that problem..besides it's always wise to oni pluck in ur ext hdd when ur in windows..do what msi-my say 1st..see if it will works smile.gif..if i remember correctly..some1 in this forum had similar problem..but it's his mouse that's causing the prblem hahah tongue.gif

Thanks to MSI MY, it was solved =)

Virus, I know that, but I was restarting the lappy with the ext hdd attached, luckily it was solved, phew xD

Anyway, it's seriously normal for the GPU to go above 70 and the processors to be at the temps of 73+ while gaming right?

I tested Mass Effect 2 just now and got those temps.

Normal right? Just tell me that it is XD

My little brother is gonna enjoy this, haha.. Anyway, I will be benchmarking a little, no worries..

I'm new to this, so don't expect much from me when I benchmark.

I did FF14, Unigine Heaven 2.5 & Stone Giant benchmarks. Anymore I should do? Vantage softwares are mostly not freeware, it's problematic..

Just stay tuned wink.gif
