My baby is so special.. she doesn't need frequent feeding, she can sleep for 5-6 hours without crying for milk.this made us so wry ...n she only drink a little bit for each feeding...

now she still on FM cuz my milk hvnt come, but i started to notice whitish sticky liquid from my nipple although is just 1 drop.  Already asked my husband to get a manual pump for me to pump out n bottle feed her cuz she very lazy on sucking... even bottle feed v need to spend almost an hour to feed her n she only takes in a bit...

Koh Sin,

A word of caution, please make sure your LO drinks more milk, especially based on your description, she is lazy to drink milk. This laziness symptom is exactly the SAME as my LO and he is being diagnosed for jaundice. The senior nurse termed it as 'penyakit malas', malas to wake up, malas to drink milk and malas to move around. My Lo sleeps 5-6 hours without milk, when he wakes up, he drinks a bit and we thought he is being a good baby as well. If you detect the slightest tint of yellow on his face and his eyes, please consult your paed.

My LO was under phototherapy for a day, and I had to wake him up every 2 hours to breastfeed him. The breastmilk will flush out the bilirubin in his body. It was a tough process, especially for first time mummy, so I hope you don't need to go through it. Good luck!

you need to let her suckle your breast to stimulate milk production....

I heard its better to do natural breast feed compared to giving milk powder because of the natural nutrients that are in the mothers milk. Did anyone read about this topic before?

I also having difficulty to latch my lo during the first week...problem is my nipple damn sore and I barely can tahan the pain....I stop letting her to suck on my nipple...so no choice I feed my lo with FM on third and fourth day...but at the same time I keep pumping for the milk for one week...after that only I dare to try again to latch her on...

Don't worry on the milk...it only comes in after one week...and only the milk totally turns to white color...before this is much yellowish...

If your lo have jaundice...bath with Guinness stout...of coz mix with the warm water...one big bottle can divide to 3 times..it works for me. smile.gif

To increase milk production..try get the fenugreek capsules from GNC.

my paed against using guinness stout to bath my baby because he says that the stout will be absorbed into baby's skin and make baby abit drunk....

When my baby was born, the jaundice level was 121.
5-6 days later, I notice my baby is kinda yellow and starts to get worry and since I had an appointment with my paed , then we did another round of Jaundice test and was 157. Paed said no need to do anything except put baby in morning sun light or shaded afternoon light.
True enough, 2 weeks later, the baby skin is back to normal icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

My hospital request my baby to go through Jaundice test on his 3rd day and 1+ week later.
Anyway, if suspect Jaundice, better do a checkup on Jaundice level to avoid any headache in the future

me & my wife expose baby to morning sun light and shaded afternoon light, and bath baby using TYT herbal bath

u can try Fenugreek if u haven't. My wife gave it a go among other "milk increasing products" and now she has enough milk supply for baby and the occasional pumping.

Also drink more water.
